Treatment Planning and ReAssessment to Enhance Mental Health

Recorded presentation by Dr. Dawn-Elise Snipes on practical methods for writing treatment plans and conducting reassessments in mental health care. The talk explains the integrated (comprehensive) summary as an ‘‘executive summary’’ of assessment, the purpose of frequent reassessments (capture progress, new issues, and support authorization), and common pitfalls (non-measurable goals, lack of client buy-in, infrequent reassessment). Dr. Snipes describes a time-efficient, client-centered workflow: use brief standardized tools (FARS, CANS, ASAM, LOCUS), give clients worksheets to prioritize changes, set measurable short-term objectives, use rapid-cycle change, and do concurrent documentation (including group review) to empower clients and satisfy audits.
