The speaker (a social entrepreneur) explains that social entrepreneurs are motivated primarily by purpose and mission rather than financial offers. They describe their personal missions — uplifting humanity's consciousness, transforming education, eradicating poverty and hunger, and greening the world — and advise people seeking collaboration or investment to begin with purpose and alignment rather than money. The speaker emphasizes that money only solves monetary problems and cannot buy genuine commitment.
So now we're moving into a world where social enterprise and social entrepreneurs are populating the world of business more and more. And one of the things that happens, one of the shifts from traditional way of doing business, one of the shifts that occurs is that for people like myself and other social entrepreneurs, and is not about enticing us about how much money we're going to make, how much money we'll offer. We're actually more about purpose. Of course we care about the bottom line. But you can't get really people like myself and other leaders to get very excited about working with you when you're just offering money. I get offered money to do all kinds of things, but that is not the essence of what we do. What we like to have is alignment of purpose. And we like to be very clear on how, what the rules of the game are going to be, how we're going to participate together, how we are going to be working with each other, and what is going to be the highest purpose for as many people are concerned. So just make sure that when you are approaching people to either invest with you or to work with you, or you're offering for them to be part of a project that you're creating, that you begin with the purpose. My purpose is actually to uplift humanity's consciousness through socially responsible businesses. One of my missions is to transform educational systems around the world and eradicate poverty and hunger. And also another mission is the greening of the world. So when you approach someone like me or other social entrepreneurs that you would like to work with, and they have something that you may be interested in, either access to their network or their knowledge or how they think, or for them to introduce you to people that you wish that you could work with and be able to participate in life with, then you have to do some research, you have to do some homework, you have to take a look and see if that person would be interested in doing your project, be part of your business that will add value to humanity. So the days about just offering people money are over for those of us. And yes, there's still a lot of people out there who are just about the bottom line, money, money, money. But then you have to really consider what it would be like to work with a person like that. If the bottom line is all about money, then values and the way that people are treated, the way that businesses are run and the way that conflicts are resolved is a completely different thing. Because now we're talking about being able to even buy people or to be able to possibly solve problems with money. And just remember, money only solves one problem and that is money problems. That's the only problem that money solves. Later, as you get more and more money, you have different kind of problems. What I call rich people problems. So problems don't go away with money. Only money problems go away. You still have to handle many other things in life. I hope that makes it clear on why you can't buy people like myself with money. It.
