Short YouTube monologue by Dr. Ashley Lucas about how breakfast food choices affect blood sugar and eating frequency. The speaker contrasts protein-rich, minimally processed breakfasts (eggs, fruit, healthy fats like avocado or MCT oil) with highly processed, carbohydrate-dominant options (cereals, pastries, bagels) and argues that processed carbs promote blood sugar swings and more frequent eating.

Each time we're eating depending on what we eat. So if we were to eat a protein laden breakfast with high quality non processed carbohydrates, so let's say we have eggs with a little bit of fruit or if we're eating leftovers and we're having some healthy fats, maybe we've added some MCT oil to our coffee, maybe we're having some avocado that is going to keep our blood sugar much more stable than if we sit down and have what I refer to affectionately as breakfast as dessert. You know we think about corn flakes, you think about cereals, think about pastries, you think about bagels, things, things that are highly processed white flours that are going to have a larger net impact on blood sugar regulation. So when I think about people that are eating frequently they are very likely people that are choosing generally ultra processed foods, they're choosing carbohydrate dominant foods which are gonna have a greater net impact on that blood sugar roller coaster.
