Brush and Floss Your Spine With Chiropractic

Dr. Dave compares spinal health to dental hygiene, arguing you should get routine spinal check-ups like dental visits every 4-6 months. Most people lack a manual for spine self-care, making professional assessment from chiropractors, massage therapists, or acupuncturists essential for preventing problems that affect your whole nervous system.

Hey everyone, it's Dr. Dave. Hope you're all doing well wherever I might be reaching you. Here again today to help keep you connected to health and keep having great experiences in life. Now how many of you go to the dentist? How many of you have your teeth checked up? How many of you are brushing and flossing every day? You know, the dentists have a great model and it's based on education and information. You know, we weren't born with a manual. There isn't this convenient book we can get or purchase or receive or is handed down to teach us how to take care of this beautiful machine that we have to enjoy life through for as long as possible. So we rely on what we're taught, what we're told by others, our parents, friends, family, relatives, and then what we learn along the way through education and information, through society and our community. And, you know, one of the things we learn is you got to brush and floss your teeth. And that helps keep your teeth for a lifetime, but you still have to go to the dentist for a checkup, and they're going to make sure they can tell how well you're brushing and flossing those teeth and also give you suggestions and keep that education and information strong for you, because you really want to keep those teeth for a lifetime. It's really a big part of staying healthy and your overall health is your oral or dental health, but no matter how well you brush and floss, no matter how well you try to eat, The reality is you can still have some dental or gum problems along the way, and that's because of tons of reasons, environmental reasons, genetic reasons. So to stack the cards in your favor, you should probably go get a dental checkup every 4 to 6 months, give or take. Everybody's a little bit different. Your dentist would probably better be able to tell you. But when it comes to your spine, you know, we like to brush and maybe even floss that spine just like we would brush and floss your teeth. The problem is it's not a common concept. The manual that we were supposed to get, that we didn't get, uh, we can't read and figure that out. No one's ever taught us how to brush and floss the spine so we can keep it healthy on our own. But further than that, no one's ever told us that maybe we should go get this thing checked out. Maybe we need a spinal checkup like we do a dental checkup. And that can entail a whole bunch of different things depending on who you are and what you do., and what your health goals are, or what challenges you may currently be having. So if that concept makes sense, if you get the brush and floss thing, even you may or may not do it, compliance is another issue, then you should get the spinal concept as well, because that concept plays over for all your body parts, all your organs, glands, blood vessels, your nervous system, your physical body. There are people out there, chiropractors, massage therapists, naturopaths, acupuncturists, traditional Chinese medicine specialists, There's so many people that you could collaborate with depending on what your health goals and interests are and what your current challenges are. You just need to jump in and find someone that makes sense to you to work with. So don't be on the wrong side of the statistics. Make sure you go see your dentist, your dental hygienist. Make sure you go see your chiropractor. Make sure you're working towards brushing and flossing all parts of your body so you can keep them good for a lifetime. I think that's a good bit of advice. Thanks for tuning in again today. Thanks for listening to my long message. You guys all keep doing well, keep having great experiences in life, and I'll catch you next time.
