How to Take Free Posture Analysis Pictures

Dr. David Koivuranta shows how to take two photos for a free posture assessment: one from the front and one from the side profile, wearing simple clothes with a plain background. The clinic's software analyzes your spinal alignment and generates personalized recommendations based on how your posture affects your nervous system and health.

Hey everyone, it's Dr. Dave. Hopefully you're all out there doing well and creating those great experiences in your life. We've had a great response with our free posture assessment. People have been sending in their pictures and we've been putting it into our software and sending them a report based on what we find in the pictures that they send us, and we send them some suggestions on what to do based on what we see there. But we've had a lot of questions on how to take the pictures. So I have my daughter Mia with me here, and we're going to show you how to do that. First of all, this is kind of how you want to be dressed. You want to have on something simple, t-shirt and shorts, t-shirt and pants, nothing too bulky where we can't see your frame. So a big bulky sweater, a jacket, not a good idea, okay? And you don't want to have any shoes on. And what you're going to do is get a friend or family member, someone who can take the picture for you, and then find a backdrop that's pretty plain if you can. The more plain the better. And then you're going to stand so that when the person takes the picture, they just want to capture your whole body in the frame. So from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet, you want to be in that frame. And the first picture is just from front to back, very simple. But don't think about how you're standing. Don't try and make it perfect. In fact, uh, you just want to maybe close your eyes even, just loosen up a little bit, and then try and be still. You take the first picture. Then the second picture is you're going to turn to the left. So So we get a profile of you from the right. And it's the same thing. Don't try and be taller than you normal— normally are. Don't think about it too much. Just try and be yourself. And one of the hardest things we have to try and figure out is where a person's ear is sometimes because their hair is over the ear. So make sure you put that hair behind the ear or the hair to the other side just so we can see the whole face and head. And then you take the second picture from this side. Again, from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet., and then you're done. It's as simple as that. Then you send those two pictures into us. We'll plug it into the software that we have. We'll send you the assessment. If there's any suggestions or tips we can see based on the results, we'll share those with you as well. It's very educational. It's not just about how it looks. It's not like our parents used to told us, make sure you're sitting up tall. It's also about your health because the posture is a window to your spine and the spine is a window to your health through the nervous system. And the nervous system regulates all your health. So this, as simple as it seems, is a great tool to be able to accomplish that. All right, so send those pictures in. We look forward to seeing them, and I'll catch you on the flip side. All right, good job.
