In this short video, Dr. David Koivuranta celebrates World Spine Day (October 16) by highlighting the spine’s critical role as the body’s structural and neurological backbone. He explains that, like daily dental care, the spine needs regular “flossing” and professional checks to maintain optimal function. Dr. Koivuranta distinguishes chiropractic care from physiotherapy and medicine, emphasizing its unique focus on spinal health. He invites viewers, especially those in the Greater Toronto Area, to submit two photos for a complimentary posture analysis via his clinic’s Facebook page, website, or email, promising a personalized report on posture and potential health implications. The message concludes with a call to proactively care for one’s spine before problems arise.

Hey everyone, it's Dr. Dave. Hopefully you're all doing super and you're out there creating those great experiences in your life. Very exciting time in October for chiropractic. On October 16th, it's World Spine Day, a day where we can kind of celebrate the backbone in our society, which is the backbone that we all share in our spine. You know, the spine is probably one of the more overlooked areas of healthcare, unfortunately. It's something that we use every day. It's something that houses and protects the most valuable system in the body, which is your nervous system. And without a good spine, it's really just like the term backbone. You know, we've used that figuratively to mean a strong foundation, something we can rely on, something that supports us and helps us accomplish things in our day-to-day lives, especially creating those great experiences. And if our backbone, if we don't have that support, if we don't have that foundation, it's really hard for us to go out and do what we were designed and created to do and, and have fun and enjoy ourselves, but also accomplish things and be there for other people. So even in health, not figuratively but literally, the spine is a seat of a lot of the health in the body because it provides the framework and it also houses a system that controls and regulates everything that happens in the body right down to the cellular level, either directly or indirectly. So taking care of your spine is really important. And on a daily basis, we're trying to encourage people, just like they've been encouraged with the dental model to floss and brush their teeth and get rid of the plaque and see the dentist. Your spine requires the same kind of flossing, but instead of tooth or teeth flossing, it's bone joint vertebrae or spine flossing. But it also needs to get checked. To ensure that it's operating the way that it was designed and programmed so that there's no interference to your body's ability to be at its best. And the relationship there is very intimate. And that's why chiropractic exists. It's not physiotherapy, it's not medicine, it's very different and succinct, and it's for that reason that there's nobody else out there in the healthcare world addressing that component because we feel that it's just really important because it is the backbone. All right? So on our Facebook page, on the website, you can actually, especially if you're in the Greater Toronto Area, you can sign up for a free posture analysis. You send me two pictures online or by email, and I'll send you back a report on what I see and some things that you can do to maybe pay attention to or be aware of, but also some of the health implications that can result if this system is not sitting and moving properly. So it's an interesting thing to do. And on October 16th, on Spine Day, why don't you take two pictures, send them over to us, and we'll get you some information from from what we can see on the outside that might be telling us there could be some potential problems in the future for you on the inside, if you're not already having some already. Alright? But as always, you can reach us through our Facebook page, you can reach us through the website, send me an email, drop by the clinic anytime. Time to take care of your spine is before you notice any problems. So for October 16th, World Spine Day, let's all make sure we have a strong backbone. So that we can live some great lives and create some good experiences. I'll catch you next time.
