Short educational YouTube short by Dr. Diane Mueller introducing Lyme disease die-off (Herxheimer) symptoms. The speaker explains that when Borrelia bacteria are killed, toxins are released increasing total toxic load in the body, which produces die-off/Herxheimer symptoms; an analogy (a mug filling with water) is used to illustrate toxin burden.

Foreign Mueller here talking about all things Lyme, mold, chronic disease, and more. And in this video, we're going to talk about Lyme disease and die off symptoms. So this is a really important topic. So a lot of people in the Lyme community know these die off symptoms as Herxheimer symptoms. That's what they're oftentimes called. But essentially, what's happening when we have Lyme die off symptoms, essentially what's happening is our toxic load is increased, because when we actually are killing Lyme disease, the bacteria that causes Lyme disease, known as Borrelia, when we kill that bacteria, our body is subject to all of the toxins that are released when that bacteria dies. And how toxins work in the body is basically about the total body burden of these toxins. So the analogy I give is like, if we have a mug and every drop of water that goes into the SA.
