Hey everybody. This video is about Lyme disease rash and make sure to check out the link in the show notes where I have a blog that shows you pictures of the rash and goes over more detail. So I'm Dr. Diane Mueller, Lyme expert, founder of my Lyme Doc functional medicine clinic where we specialize in Lyme and mold and chronic illness. And the biggest couple things to understand about Lyme disease rash one is to timing. So if you're worried about being bitten by a tick or an insect and you have a rash show up. You want to remember that for some people a rash with Lyme disease does not show up for even 30 days. So if you see a rash and you're like there's no way this could be Lyme. I haven't been outside and you know, in a while, you want to remember that 30 days is, is that amount of time it's most common to see that rash within about three days, but it really could be up to 30 days before you do see that rash. So you want to remember that. You also want to remember that Lyme disease is something that does not always produce a rash. In fact, the rash could be hidden. It could be hidden in the hair place you don't notice. But in actually the majority of people with Lyme disease there is never a rash of you're having flu like symptoms if you've been outdoors a lot, no matter where you live. Lyme disease is not just a disease of the east coast of the United States. We now know that Lyme disease is present really around the world in various countries. So you always want to consider Lyme disease acutely. If you're having sudden onset of fatigue, a fever, of joint pain is really common. And you also want to consider that long term conditions of pain, of migraines, of chronic fatigue syndrome, could be chronic Lyme that has not been found. So I hope this has been helpful.
