"Methylene Blue: A Promising Tool in the Fight against Lyme Disease"

Dr. Diane Mueller explains methylene blue, a prescription that boosts mitochondrial energy and reduces inflammation while fighting infections like Bartonella. It may help with brain fog and nerve damage, but can trigger severe die-off reactions, so you need an experienced doctor and a slow start.

Hey, everybody. Welcome to this video on methylene blue and all of its various functions, from helping with fatigue, to brain health, to antimicrobial, and on and on and on and on. My name is Dr. Diane Mueller. I'm the founder of my lymedoc clinic, helping people with a wide variety of health conditions. And in this video we're going to talk about what some of my clients ask me, which is should they use methylene blue? So methylene blue is a prescription that has a wide variety of clinical uses. It helps our mitochondria, so it helps it with the production of nad, which helps your mitochondria, the powerhouse of your cell, to work better. So when it does that, you essentially get more energy. We want your mitochondria to work when healing from Lyme and mold because your energy level goes up. In addition, it lowers oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is a process of molecules being released through toxin exposure, through stress, through infections, through die off. And when oxidative stress goes up, we see that there's more inflammat, there's more damage to things like the nerves, there's more brain fog, fatigue. Methylene blue helps to lower that mechanism and thereby can help with those sorts of things. We see it improved brain fog. There's even some evidence showing that it can help with the tangles associated in the brain with Alzheimer's disease. So there's a lot that this particular, this particular prescription can do. One challenge with it is it's also super antimicrobial. It's used a lot for Bartonella in the chronic infection world, but it's very, very, very broad spectrum antimicrobial. So we can kill, which can be a good thing. But any of you guys that are aware of Herxheimer and the die off, say, reaction that can happen when we're killing microorganisms too quickly and they can actually wind up releasing their toxins. You can get flu, like real fatigue symptoms can get way worse. So we just want to be careful with something like methylene blue because it does so many different things and the body doesn't select for, oh, if I take methylene blue, I want to use it to help with that oxidative stress and to improve my brain. But I don't want it to kill all these microorganisms because they could die too quickly and I could feel bad. We can't select for that when we take it. Right. It just does everything it's going to do. So you want to be aware that, yes, there's a lot of benefits but sometimes there's a lot of reactivity with it too. So if you do this work with a prescriber that knows what they're doing, go slow. Remember you can have die off from the killing of the microorganisms and you can feel worse. This is not a good thing. That's a sign you're moving too fast, very inflaming to your system so just watch out for that. So hopefully this has been helpful. If you know of anybody with brain fog or fatigue that's looking for answers I would appreciate if you don't keep me a secret and send this on to them. Please subscribe to this channel if it's been helpful and look down in the show notes if you want a free call with my clinic to see see if we are a good fit to help you with any of your Lyme mold, chronic fatigue, dementia, brain fog, fibromyalgia types of problems. Okay everybody we'll see you in the next one.
