Dr. Diane Mueller covers testing for mold toxins and heavy metals. The urinary mycotoxin test shows results as fine, moderate, or high; high levels suggest active exposure worth investigating at home or work. Provocation testing mobilizes metals but can cause symptoms, while Quicksilver Scientific claims to detect low-level metals without it.

Hey, everybody. Dr. Diane Mueller here again. We're going to talk about mold mycotoxins, which are the toxins from mold, as well as toxic metals. And we're going to talk about some of the testing on the market for these things. So from a mold or mycotoxin perspective, the best test on the market for this is called the urinary mycotoxin test. This is where we actually test your urine for mold or the mold toxins, I should say, inside of it. Now, when you get the test back, you will see a lot of different, different toxins listed, and they will be rated as fine levels, moderate levels, or high levels. If you have any of the mold toxins that return to you as high levels, that is a high probability that you are still getting acutely exposed. Maybe this is in your house, maybe it's in a workplace, maybe it's in a friend or family members that you frequent on a weekly basis. But you definitely, if you get high levels back, you absolutely want to consider and look and figure out where you're getting acutely exposed. Now for the urinary mycotoxin test, if you get moderate levels back, that could be also from a present exposure, it could also be from a past exposure that your body has just not been able to properly detox, which is very common. So you want to absolutely test your places that you're spending a lot of time in, really get your home or workplace tested. But it is definitely a little bit more likely that what you're dealing with is a past exposure. But if it's those high levels, you absolutely want to figure out where you're getting exposed from, because it's really, really difficult to remove these things, remove the toxins from your body. If you're still living or working in a place that is with you that you're finding the toxin buildup. In addition to that, the metals testing, there's different tests we can do. So there is a test by Vibrant Wellness that actually combines mold toxins as well as other toxins such as metals. And that test can be great to do. Their. Their mold testing test is top of the line. Their metals testing is decent. But sometimes one of the problems with metals and testing for metals is our cells actually really hold on to metals, meaning that our metals don't always show up in the blood or in the urine because they live inside of our cells once the exposure has become more chronic. So oftentimes, if we're doing blood or urine tests and we're looking for toxic metals, we can run into the test is really testing for what's actually in the blood and in the urine. And if the metals are actually in the cells instead of the blood and urine, the test won't pick it up. So there's a couple different options with that. One option is you can actually do a, what's called a provocation type of test. And this means you give an agent. Things like DMSO or EDTA are sometimes used and these types of agents will cause your cells to dump the metals so they actually show up in the blood or the urine. One of the challeng using a provocating agent is if you do have a high level of metals in your cells and you dump them, one of the things that often will happen is you might feel sick and ill. So it's really important to consider that when you're doing that. Another option for testing metals is using a company called Quicksilver Scientific. Quicksilver Scientific has a technology that is different than other labs on the market. And so Quicksilver Scientific technology will actually pull pick up minute levels of metals that are problems without having to do a provocating agent. So that's a good solution if you don't want to mess with a provocating agent which typically has to be prescribed and can make you feel really bad. So it is really important and really useful to test for mold and for metals. When we do this, we can tailor the treatment based upon what types of metals or what types of molds you actually have present. And that makes a, you know, a difference with the treatment. It also can tell us things like how long it's going to take for treatment if you have a really high level of these toxins in your body. Oftentimes you will get sick when you do treatment unless you go really, really slow. So it can give us information around how to pace the supplements or the medications. And that is super wonderful for healing. So that is it for this particular video. If you enjoy this, please subscribe to this channel and I'll see you in the next one.
