The Tongue Tingling Mystery Unveiled: Exploring Numbness & Tingling with Dr. Diane

A YouTube video by Dr. Diane Mueller introducing a month-long masterclass on numbness and tingling, focusing here on tongue tingling. The speaker outlines urgent causes to rule out (sudden stroke, multiple sclerosis), then common, less serious causes such as B12 deficiency and food allergies, and previews a follow-up video and a paid masterclass for deeper root-cause work and personalized lab/test recommendations.

Hey, everybody. Dr. Diane, your chronic illness expert here. This month, we're talking about all things weird around numbness and tingling. It's going to be our masterclass topic for the month. And so the first thing we're talking about in today's video is numbness and tingling. What could it mean? I wanted to start with this particular topic around numbness and tingling, because when it comes to numbness and tingling, we want to make sure it's not the scary stuff first. So essentially, if it's sudden onset, definitely want to be making sure that you are getting checked out right away for a stroke. Beyond that, the other scary thing, and this is not said to scare you, this is said for you to know and understand so you can take action. But the next scary thing that it could be would be something like multiple sclerosis. So talking to a neurologist is a really important point, so really important ideas. Now, most of the time, beyond those kind of things, most of the time, numbness and tingling is actually when we're talking about tongue tingling, which is what I'm talking about in today's video. Tongue tingling is oftentimes from much less major problems. It can be very, very commonly from a B12 deficiency. That's one of the top causes of tongue tingling. In particular, there are certain types of conditions where your body just does not absorb a lot of the B12. So in these situations, taking B12 is super important. Taking a B12 form called methylcobalamin is super important. So we want to make sure that we're considering that. Now, beyond that, allergies are a big thing that could cause tongue tingling. So you want to consider, did I eat a food and then my tongue tingled? What did I eat? Every time I eat that food, does my tongue tingle? I had it was reacting to pineapple for a while, and I found out about that because I would eat pineapple, my tongue started tingling. So that you want to absolutely consider now, besides that, we want to consider anything that could cause your nervous system to inflame. And that's one of the biggest things I hope you get out of this month, out of our focus on numbness and tingling this month, because anything that's going to cause your nerves to inflame, your nerves to not fire correctly, could essentially cause numbness and tingling. And we're talking about the tongue. We do have nerves that go to our tongue. So it's all part of this numb, numbness, tingling and nerve picture. So with numbness and tingling of the tongue, we want to, if we like ruled out all these other basics. We want to definitely consider some of the other top components such as infections, toxins and more. So that's what's coming up in my next video. Next video, we're talking about important root causes of numbness and tingling beyond the basics. This video was on those basics. So making sure you're not having a stroke, there's no multiple sclerosis. And then, you know, thinking through allergies and B12, some of those very, very basic things. And then we'll go, like I said, into those other root causes that are more advanced but often very common. As far as other root causes of this in the next video. Remember, sign up for my masterclass this month. That is in the show notes. That's where you're going. We're going to go into this topic in a lot more detail. Plus, the other thing I do in my masterclass is I put wanted people that are interested in this in hot seats. We go through your symptoms and we figure out what lab tests you need. So it's super valuable. I hope you show up. I hope you tell your friends and family that need this about this channel and I hope to see you next time.
