Can Prayer Heal Cancer? What 25 Years of Patients Revealed | Dr. Prato

In this 25‑minute monologue Dr. Dino Prado (NMD) shares the spiritual and practical framework he has used with cancer patients over the past quarter‑century. He argues that healing is a whole‑person process that includes the body, mind, spirit, and soul, and that chronic stress, unforgiveness, and unresolved trauma can sabotage the immune system and impede physical recovery. Prado describes inner‑healing work—prayer over specific body areas, consciously handing pain and betrayal to God, and declaring forgiveness as a spoken decision—followed by concrete exercises such as breathwork synchronized with Scripture, daily rhythmic prayer, and journaling to “listen” to God. He grounds these practices in a theological view that sin and brokenness entered the world, yet God’s will is for health, and that surrendering hurts to the Lord releases divine power to restore the body. Throughout he offers step‑by‑step guidance for patients and their families, emphasizing that these spiritual tools are applicable to anyone, not only those diagnosed with cancer, and that cultivating a deeper relationship with God provides both emotional peace and physiological benefits.

Patients don't just fight cancer in the body, but the fight is at the battle, at the spirit level as well. If you're stressed, you have fear or unforgiveness that's living inside of you that can drain your strength, and we need to heal that. So today we're going to go into the peace that's needed for healing, for your body, your mind, your soul, your spirit to feel strong and healthy by the grace of God. Hi, I'm Dr. Dino Prado. For the last 25 years, my team and I have walked with patients through some of the hardest moments of life. I remember so many times holding a patient's hands and praying, praying with them for healing, or praying with them to forgive and let go and actually walking them through the words of what they needed to let go of. So, yeah, medicine matters, but the whole person needs to be healed. Body, mind, spirit, and soul. So this is what's so important. In this episode, I'm going to share simple, practical tools that may help you, loved ones, people going through cancers, release the stress, forgive and let go, and find rest in the Lord so that the body has the best chance to heal and find peace, the peace that we deserve, so that we can get to where we want with our health. So we're going to talk a little bit about inner healing. I remember years ago going through inner healing classes where we'd sit for hours and learn about physical disease and how it was related to spiritual problems and how to pray for healing. And I saw some pretty amazing things, like as people receive prayer, they would receive physical healings or emotional freedom. And it was so powerful. But more than ever, when you're dealing with cancer, you need to take this into account. It's an important part of your journey. Emotional wounds and unforgiveness can keep the body on high alert and keep your immune system down regulated, your stress high, your sleep poor. So chronic stress shifts your hormones, weakens your immune balance, steals your sleep and your energy. And you don't want that. You want your energy. You want your energy for healing. So inner healing invites the Lord to touch those wounds and places in our life where we have trauma, betrayal, fear, shame, you name it. So when we do that, we can be set free so the nervous system can calm down and we can breath again. This is the key point. Healing often begins in the heart. It's not just in the doctor's office, right? It's in the heart. It's in the mind. And oftentimes people think that they have to feel healing well, essentially, you can forgive somebody, and it starts with the words we speak, and then the body will follow. So it's an act of the will, your decision, and then the body follows. You speak it. You may not feel it yet, but you speak it. As you speak and pray, you'll break through those boundaries. Oftentimes, there's a release of tears and emotion, and we're starting to get to that area that we want, which is healing. Reflection is important. It prompts us to look where we need to look. Where do we feel that we need to let go? It's pretty easy. You can feel two things in reflection. First, where do you need healing in your body? There might be an area where the cancer is or where you feel tight. You always feel like there's something stuck in your throat or you're unable to speak, or you feel traumatized, or your digestion is off. All of these emotional traumas are blocking our healing. So we can put our hands over it and we can softly just say, lord, heal me. Meet me here. And as you do that, that. And you sit in that for a minute, you can feel those areas as the light of God's love and word starts to move in. And I always say, what do you mean, God's word? Well, you can pray the word of God over it. You can pray healing over that area, and you can literally touch it, and you can feel it releasing it to the Lord. One of the things I like to do here is mentally just imagine handing that area, that trauma, that pain, right to the Lord and then letting the Lord touch you. Forgiveness is a decision. It's not just an emotion or some feeling. So many say, I don't feel like forgiving. Well, normal. That's the natural, normal, human way. We can be hurt. We can feel like we need to get back at somebody or get things corrected. This was totally disordered, and there's truth to that. The vengeance and recompense is the Lord. It's not ours. He'll take care of it. As soon as we hand it over, things actually start moving. Forgiveness is a choice that first starts not with feelings, but when we speak it. When we forgive that person and we give it to. We give them to the Lord, we release that person and how they've hurt us, and we let go of that grip, and now God can move. This is the spiritual truth, and it aligns with what we see in health. Forgiveness can lower stress, ease tension, and help the body settle. There's been a lot of studies on that. I won't go into all of that. But we know when we're at peace, we feel better, we digest food better, we sleep better, our relationships are better. So there's a number of little things you can do along the way to help you with this. So one of the things is handing the people over. Usually, you know, you're in forgiveness because you're dealing with family members and people you know, or incidences that happened to you when you were young. Traumas. It could have been sexual abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse. People have been through all kinds of abuses in the world. But the Lord is bigger than all those things. And the hardest thing for people to think about is when they're going through healing. Is. Is there even a God? How could I have gone through that trauma? And the important thing to remember is, yes, there is a God. And God's will for you is to be well and he loves you. But the world is broken. And sin has entered the world from the very beginning of Adam and Eve, and it is here, including disease and death and suffering. It's all there. But when we hand it to the Lord, he can transform it. As we surrender to him, we almost bring up us that presence of heaven, the touch of Jesus, the mercy, and it starts to really flood our hearts, our mind, and our person. So think of it this way. Here's a little mini exercise. Think of a person or an event that still hurts. So it's a person that's hurt you or an area of your body that's connected to it, or there's still a hurt that you have someone you need to let go, or a doctor who wronged you, did something to hurt you, or a family member who really hurt you or even said something to you. And in this you can say, lord, today in your name, I forgive. And you mention the person's name. Lord, I thank you. Thank you to bless so and so. I thank you to prosper so and so. See, there's. There's a power in the. Speaking of this forgiveness. It's not just forgiveness. I remember in a time where I had a hard time forgiving. I've had people that have hurt me too. I mean, that's. That's a human condition. But it wasn't until I asked the Lord to bless that person or to love that person, to prosper that person. All of a sudden I noticed tears and an emotional relief because it wasn't just like, hey, I forgive so and so. That's easy to say. But then it's, the Lord blessed that person, prospered that person and finally, I felt something break. I let that go. I let that hurt that was inside me. Release. And when I guide patients through this, it's the same thing. It's releasing the person to the Lord. And you can tell when you've done it, because you feel like something's lifted, something's broken, and you feel freer. And that's the whole key, because when you're free, that's where all the healing happens. That's so powerful. Now, there's also practical tools we can do to reduce stress and healing. And sometimes it's just breathing exercises. You can do things like breathe in through the nose for four seconds, hold and exhale. I just start a breathing routine. There's so many good ones out there. I'm not going to go into them. But you can look at breath work. There's entire channels designated on YouTube to breath work, or even podcasts or so many tools. And you can become an expert in breath work, but make sure that you connect it to God's Word. So connected to the Lord. And breath work is so powerful, because after you breathe for a series and then you rest and you just feel what that breath work is on, you'll feel calmer. It helps your oxygen to your brain, your. Your nervous system, your immune system, and then you can do the breathing routine again. And as you do this several times a day, let's say maybe you do a breathing routine. Fifteen minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at noon, another 15 minutes after dinner, and then at bedtime. This is going to reset your body. And that whole time. Connect it to scripture if you can. If you can, listen to the word of God and get it deep inside of you. Scripture spoken out loud is very powerful. He sent out his Word and it healed them. That's Psalm 107. And it's so important because the Lord will send out his Word. And his word is alive. It's living. It heals, you know, Come to me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11. So the Lord has given us this scripture to say, just give it to me. I will give you healing. I will give you rest. Trust in me. And you compare this with your breathing. The Lord is my strength. The Lord is my strength. See, as you inhale, that's what you're saying. And then as you exhale, I remove fear, and I remove cancer, and I remove chronic disease, and I breathe in health. And we start getting our body connected to our physical healing, and it becomes a daily rhythm where we can do this multiple Times a day, breathe. And we start breathing from our belly, not our chest, through our nose. So we get this nice parasympathetic relaxing effect. At night, we release all of the things of the day to Jesus and we say, jesus, I trust in you. I give you all of this. Jesus, I trust in you. This is so powerful because now we're trusting in the power of God. Think of it this way. Our Lord is waiting to bless us, heal us, restore us in every area of our life. We're eternal beings. We only have a life that's so long. And at that moment, then the Lord will take us home. When God is ready, we go. But we're eternal. And you know what stays is our love for all the people he's put into our lives. Our friends, family, our love, but our relationship, our love for the Lord, our surrender. I think one of the biggest things people see when they come into the presence of God. And we've heard this from all the near death experiences, they're flooded with so much love and all the fear is gone. So I invite you to move closer to Jesus. I invite you to constantly walk with the Lord. Just start building that deeper relationship. And if you already have that relationship, wonderful. Praise God. Now listen. So once you've got that relationship and your prayer is deeper and you say, father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you to heal my body. Set me free from cancer and chronic disease. I forgive all of these people. I thank you to bless them. I remove all the hurts, traumas, angers, I break all the generational curses, hexes, spells. I send them to the foot of the cross. I release the power of God and the blood of Jesus over me to heal. And as I start to forgive these people and you start letting go of them, the hurt leaves and the body starts to receive. And so you start calling forth the Lord, Send me the power of your holy angels and the light and love of heaven to heal my, my body, heal it, restore it, heal my soul. And as you start connecting with God and praying like that, then you can start listening inside of yourself. Yes, you're going to let go of the bitterness, the anger that's gone, the heaviness is gone. But now the Holy Spirit, which you invite, Lord Jesus, come bring me the power of your Holy Spirit. And as the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you'll start to hear the voice of God speak in your life. So this prayer becomes partly prayer, but a lot of it is listening. And I encourage patients to journal or make notes so you can hear what God was sharing with you in this intimate moment prayer. Sometimes you'll get a picture in your mind, you'll get a word from God or a scripture that you can read. And this is the power of healing. Now. We don't have to wait to get cancer to do this. Everybody in the family could be doing this. As we strengthen our relationship with God, we're given the power and the grace to get through anything. And not only that, give the wisdom for the journey, the wisdom of where to go, what to do, what's the right care, what's the right path. Fill me with your presence, O Lord, your word and your strength. Jesus, you are the healer. I trust in you. These are the prayers, these are the words that we use. This is how we begin this process. So I just want to welcome you to a deeper walk with the Lord. This is a time, you know, oftentimes when we're on our knees, we're in the most difficult times of our lives. We're the most open to receiving God's love. So receive it and let go. And then as you come through, praise God, get your healing, and the Lord brings you through and blesses you. You've got that strength for all of the mission that you have to accomplish in this world. Everybody that is walking the earth is a gift of God. They were created in his image and likeness. They're a precious gift. I mean, yes, we're all broken, but a gift in the sense that have a mission in making a difference in the world. Wherever we're planted, that area should be for the Lord to help people, bless our families. This is the journey of our life. And it doesn't have to be overwhelming to go through cancer. If you have this prayer and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding that is with you. And you're never alone because God is with you. At night when you're alone, you have. You're not alone. You think you're alone at night. You close your eyes. The Lord is there. Hold your pillow. Feel the presence of God. Call upon him the light of the Lord to heal you. It's medicine to your whole purpose person. Heal your relationships. Heal your relationships with your children, your spouses, your parents. And you breathe in the peace of God and you speak God's word into your life and you create this transformation because it's there for you. It's available. You just have to receive it. Now some people will say, I feel distance from God. Well, ask God for forgiveness. He's there for you. You can confess your sins and the Lord will forgive you. Bring it to confession if you're Catholic. If you're Protestant, confess your sins. Either way, confess them, let them go, release them. If you have never met the Lord before, just come to Lord. Give your life to the Lord. Say, lord Jesus Christ, son of the living God, I give you my life. Be my Lord and Savior, and right there, receive all the blessings of God. Forgive me for my sins and all the things that I've done. I give my life to you, and you release it. And you take that next step of building this relationship. I always say to people, God is so much bigger than we think he is, right? He's bigger than the box we want to put him in. But he's our Father. He's Abba. You know that powerful word that means daddy? Translated, he wants to be there for us, hold us, encourage us, strengthen us. And so our faith reaches out with just that simple word. You know, some of you may not. You remember the parable of the prodigal son. And I think we're all prodigal sons at different times. But the most powerful part of that parable Jesus gives us is he's not even at the Father's house. He's just walking and he's down the road and the Father comes running down to meet him. Comes running. That's the love of God. It surpasses all understanding. It's the love we long for. I think we're designed for that inside ourselves, to receive it, know it, and then put it to work in our lives and everything that we're doing. So it's part of our life, it's part of our family and. And there's so much peace in that. So I just want to welcome you to this idea that you may already know God is with you. You're not alone, and he loves you. Surrender, Jesus. I trust in you, Jesus. I trust in you. Jesus. I trust in you. What a powerful words. I hope this was helpful. I hope this encourages you to your journey to healing. And may the Lord bless you on this journey to heal. Bum, bum, bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum.
