Doctors can track circulating tumor cells in blood to catch cancer recurrence before it shows up on scans. Rising CTC counts signal disease re-emergence, allowing earlier treatment intervention than waiting for visible tumors.
Now we continue to monitor with CT circulating tumor cells. We monitor this regularly, and instead of waiting for lumps or tumors or imaging to give us data, we can track it really easily. If those numbers stay nice and low, we're great. We're holding remission. If they want to go up, we're seeing it as cellular level before it becomes a tumor. And now we can enact treatments to knock down those cells so they never become tumors.
