Anktiva is an IL-15 super-agonist, a man-made cytokine immunotherapy for bladder cancer. It was developed as an alternative to BCG, the traditional treatment, after BCG shortages made it hard to find. The drug treats invasive bladder cancers that don't respond to BCG.
What's antiva really? What it is is an IL15 super agonist. It's a cytokine. It's a man made cytokine. Now this issue that was happening in bladder cancers, BCG was on shortage and sometimes you couldn't get it. Now, BCG is like an immunotherapy that help your immune system kill cancers like bladder cancer and actually others as well. But IL15 was able to kind of get, I think, fast tracked and moved here a bit because we needed another drug that we can commercially make and have access to worldwide to help with these invasive bladder cancers that weren't responding.
