Chapters
Too many times, when someone is diagnosed with late stage cancer, the world whispers this familiar mantra. Let them die with dignity. Patients walk into cancer wards and feel this palpable spirit of death. They see suffering, medications masking pain, but rarely hope. But I want to tell you something today. Your life is not an accident. Your life is a gift. And your mission isn't over until God says it's over. For the last 25 years, I've been blessed to work with some of the most difficult cancers, those that have failed some of the top cancer hospitals around the world. And I'm here to tell you nothing. But nothing is impossible with God. Through precision oncology, I've seen patients live longer, with better quality of life and more meaningful time with their loved ones. Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. When we know better, we can do better. Not just medically, but even spiritually. It's not only a battle against cancer, it's the battle against fear and death and hopelessness. Jesus says in John 10:10, I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly, away from cancer and chronic disease. And God's will is clear. In Psalm 103 he tells us, bless the Lord my soul and forget not all his benefits. Who forgives all your sins, heals all your diseases. You heard me, all of your diseases, and redeems your life from the pit. Hebrews 3:18 affirms, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and his healing power is unchanged throughout his ministry. Jesus healed the sick and the apostles carried on the same ministry. God's desire is restoration of body, mind and soul. And one of the most powerful gifts I've seen in patients healing journeys is forgiveness. The Bible encourages us, if you forgive other people, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14 begin by forgiving others. Begin by forgiving those loved ones and others that may have hurt you. Let that go so that your body can receive God's healing for you. Begin to feed yourself daily with the Word of God and the scriptures and Proverbs 4:22. For they are life to those who find them, and health for all their flesh. This is the word of God. Use it like a prescription when you pray. Sometimes you'll experience miracles. I've seen people physically healed, but more often what I see the Lord do is guide people with wisdom and peace and walk them through each step that they need in their life. Listen to the Lord. He's speaking to you in your spirit. James 1, 5 says, if any of you lacks wisdom. Let him ask God who gives it liberally. And the greatest weapon we have is the cross. Hebrews 2:14, 15 declares, by his death he broke the power of him who holds the power of death, the devil, and delivered those who were held in slavery by the fear of death. Because of Jesus, you do not have to fear death all. You can live boldly. Secure your eternity and be confident in your future. So in the face of cancer and in chronic illness, refuse fear. Stand on God's word. Live out your mission until your very last breath. Romans 8:38, 39 assures us for I am convinced that neither death nor life will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. If you're listening today, whether you're battling cancer or walking with a loved one, or feeling overwhelmed, remember you're not alone. Your strength is in God's word. Your mission is still unfolding. Surrender your fear. Forgive freely. Feed yourself daily with the word of God. Fight with medicine, prayer, faith, and the supernatural power of God. Your life is a gift. Live it with courage, hope and certainty. God is with you always. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9. That's one of my favorite scriptures. I'm Dr. Dino Prado, and may the Lord bless you on your journey to healing.
