One thing no one tells you about being a criminal psychologist is the disappointment. I had no idea the amount of disappointment I would feel working in this capacity as a criminal psychologist consultant. It's hard. Many times you go in and work with a client, find that they have really serious mental illness and maybe have never been treated or have been treated and still maybe has some struggles or some challenges, and sometimes it doesn't impact the charge and the sentence. And it's very hard, very difficult to see individuals that look like you keep going to jail over and over again.
