Toxic trait of the week. #gaslighting #toxic #fyp #shorts #youtubeshorts

Hi, I'm Dr. Jameca Cooper. This week's toxic trait of the week is gaslighting. Ooh, you've been there before. You know what it is. If not, let me give you a quick rundown. It's a tactic that someone uses to try to make you feel like you're crazy, basically to get out of the situation and to not be able to be held accountable. Examples of this are you tell someone that they did something that they actually did, so you're bringing it to their attention and they say, "No, that didn't happen. Where'd you get that from?" Or another example would be you tell someone something that they actually did and their response to you is, "You're crazy. You're abusive. You're a liar. You're living in fantasy world," and all those things in an effort to not accept responsibility or take accountability. You spend your time trying to defend yourself and to say why you're not crazy or why you're not a liar, and then you spend your time trying to give them examples and evidence of what they actually did. In the end, it doesn't work because people like that never want to take responsibility. Best advice? Move on.
