Now let us do the relaxation exercise. Sit back in a chair or lie down in a bed. Take a deep breath. And slowly release the breath. Let your weight sink into the chair. Let go. Let go of all the tension in your body, in your mind. Just let it go. The next five minutes, that is your time. Everything else in this world can wait. In this five minutes, nothing is going to happen that crashes your world. So be here. These five minutes are for you. Now start taking deep breaths. And then slowly release the breath. Again. Take another deep breath. Slowly release your breath. Do this a few times. By taking these deep breaths, you are slowing down your breathing. And as you slow down your breathing, automatically your thoughts slow down. The restlessness in your mind subsides. If you breathe faster and shallower, automatically your thoughts start becoming restless. If you breathe slow and deep, automatically your thoughts slow down. Start feeling calmer. That's the connection between breath and your thoughts. Because thoughts are so subtle and difficult to regulate, you use your breath to indirectly regulate your thoughts. So continue the deep breathing. As you try to do this, thoughts may come and try to disturb you. Try to make you think about something that you have to do. Probably tomorrow, next week, next month. Or they come to instigate you to think about what happened in the past. Past, yesterday, a week ago, a month ago. Who said what? You see, your mind is constantly being pulled either into the past or into the future. But the truth of the matter is there is only one moment and that is this moment. It is evident if you simply observe your breath. When you take a deep breath within, that is the only breath that exists. And then when you are breathing out, that is the only breath that exists. You see, you can both breathe in and breathe, breathe out at the same time. One breath at a time. And so, one moment at a time. Everything else is a figment of your imagination. Either you are projecting your mind into the future, imagining things, or you are stuck in the past, in your memories. Past doesn't exist. It is just a memory. It's in your mind. It only comes forth and makes it look real. Every time you bring it to the forefront of your mind by thinking about it. So let go of the past. Doesn't matter what happened, you learn from it, move on. Especially if it is a pain, painful past. It is time to let go. It's not helping you, it's not serving you. Be in this moment. This is the only moment that exists. Be with your breath. Just be here. Your happiness lies within. You are emotion of peace. And the proof of that is what you are feeling right now, feeling relaxed, calm. Nothing around you changed. And yet you're feeling relaxed and calm, peaceful. Because it is already there within you. You just existed. Using this relaxation exercise. Be here. Be here as long as you can. A fresh rejuvenate. If any thought comes to your mind, you say five minutes later, wait for me. This is my time. Refresh. Rejuvenation it. In life, if you are happy, if you are healthy, that is what matters the most. Everything else is a bonus. But if you lose your health, if you are unhappy, miserable, then it doesn't matter how much money you have, how many possessions you have. Our society. Society conditions us to think about all those things. We get tricked into thinking that all those things give us happiness. Don't be tricked. That's a false promise. It is okay if you want to make money. It is okay if you want certain positions. But do not think that your happiness lies. Happiness in those things. That's the biggest lie. Your happiness is with you. The unconditional happiness that you are born with. As a child, you are happy for no reason. As you grew into an adult, your happiness slowly got conditioned to various things. And said suddenly you think that you cannot be happy. Those things. The truth of the matter is. All that is conditional happiness. At one point of time, all those things have to go and you will feel shattered. Instead of waiting for that, Start practicing unconditional happiness. Reclaim the lost happiness that is already there within you. That is a sure, short way to be happy all your life, no matter what. To be at peace, to feel secure. And as you continue to relax and remind yourself of your true nature, You will access the peace, joy, the good feelings within. That is who you are. Be here. When you finally come out of this relaxed state, carry on your activities. Carry the paradise that you created within. Carry that everywhere. Take it with you. Do not let things bother you. Things will happen, But do not let them encroach into your happiness. Do not let them steal your peace of mind. You could do this exercise anytime during the day. It could be in the morning, five to 10 minutes, afternoon during lunchtime, Or at night before going to sleep. Or you could do three times a day, and that will produce maximum benefit. You will sleep better at night. Your mind will be clear during wakeful hours. Your performance improves at work. Your decision making becomes sharp. Be here each day as long as you can.
