A short spoken piece by Dr. Calm arguing for the importance of collectivism and collective responsibility in modern societies that emphasize individual freedom. He contrasts individualism in developed nations (e.g., the United States) with communal practices observed at a medical conference in Tanzania, and calls for cultural and spiritual unity to promote peace and balance.

Collectivism. This is often ignored in this world of individual freedom, especially developed nations like United States. People have so much freedom they can go after whatever they want but they're completely cut off sometimes from the collective good. You see, we are social beings. We are all there together in this world and we need to make sure our actions, whatever that we are doing, not only benefit us but benefit other people around us. At least don't harm other people. And for this collectivism, culture is very important. Recently I was at a conference in Tanzania, Africa and I was so amazed by the fact that it is a medical conference and they had the national anthem and then they have their religious leaders, both Islam and Christians all got together and they all came together, doctors, spiritual leaders, everyone, students. And we want to see more of that, a common thread that connects everyone no matter where you are and with that more peace, joy and balance in our lives.
