He frames the issue as balancing economic harm and infection risk, urges continued precautions (masks, distancing, testing, tracing), recommends individualized decisions guided by calm wisdom, phased reopening, and stronger government support and mandates (masks, sanitizers, testing, contact tracing). Hello guys, this is Dr. Kham. I have five recommendations on how to reopen the economy safely. Hello friends. This is Dr. Kiran Dintiala. My clients also call me Dr. Kham. So I want to reach out to you with my recommendations on how to stay calm in the midst of this chaos. And I decided to do some videos to share with people with authentic information coming from a physician who has been practicing for more than 10 years. And I'm going to give you a very balanced recommendations, not just as a physician, not just as a public health professional, but also as a father, son and husband, as a business owner who lost almost more than 50% of revenue. And things have been difficult for all of us at all levels. All sections of the population are affected equally by this virus. So how do we all come together? How do we all face this and be strong and get over this pandemic and do well? They want to reopen the economy, right? One thing for sure though, is that people are totally stressed out because of this pandemic. They have lost their jobs, businesses are shut down, people are struggling, and we need to help them. How is the question, what is the best approach to reopen the economy without harming ourselves? I am thinking actively myself, you know, what should I do in my situation? I just got an email from my daughter's school that they are going to reopen. Should I send her back to school or not? That is my dilemma. I am trying to find a way to calmly solve this problem and figure out what is the right solution. I promise you five recommendations on how to reopen the economy safely. Number one, we need to take a balanced approach in solving this problem. So I'm going to balance my role here as a physician, a public health professional, a father, son and husband who cares about his family, as a business owner who is struggling to run his own business. On one side, people are totally going crazy with this lockdown, you know, being isolated at home and it's not being easy on them. On the other side, people are also terrified to go out. So how do you balance these two? Though we have come a long way in understanding this virus and the pandemic, still there are lot of unknowns. So we need to ask ourselves, are we really safe going out right now and reopening the economy? And if people do get sick, do we have the resources to treat them? Tip number two, continue taking the necessary precaution. Compared to a couple of months ago, now we are more familiar with this situation, which is in a way good. But people also, when they are Familiar with the situation, they tend to be less afraid and actually throw the caution out of window. Let's take for example, your skiing. Just because you are familiar with the situation, it doesn't mean that you are going to go out flailing your arms, right? You got to take precaution because it is still risky. The same way when you go out of home. So I want you to, for the next month or two at least maintain this perspective that you need to continue be cautious. It's like going to an African safari. You know that there are lions out there and you need to protect yourself, right? So you roll up the windows, stay inside the van and enjoy the tour. The same way, if you still have to go out, do your job, you know, open your business, make sure you take precaution. Things may happen that are out of your control, but you do the best you can. You can't live in fear forever, right? Be strong, be positive and do what you got to do to protect yourself and your family. Tip number three, be guided by your wisdom. And what do I mean by that? If you don't reopen the economy, sooner or later civil war is going to break out because people don't have enough money to meet their needs. People are going to die of starvation rather than Covid. Whether it is today or after a month, we are not going to have total certainty on when exactly to reopen the economy. So we need to make the best decision with the information at hand. But isn't that the same dilemma that we face face in almost everyday life situations? You know, there are times when all the information that you may have still do not guarantee that you will have right answers. Just for example, you know, there are times when we want to buy a car and then we go to 10 dealers and put everything on a spreadsheet and at the end of the day still come home with the wrong car. You know, after a week you're like, oh my God, did I buy that car? So you see all that analysis actually over analysis sometimes is not so good, it's detrimental. And the same is true right now during these tough times. Do not over analyze. Rather, when our intellect doesn't have enough information, we need to rely on our inner wisdom, our intuition to make decisions. Because our intuition knows things that our intellect doesn't. For that you need to maintain a calm mind and pay attention to what you feel within. Feel what is right for you and do it. Don't doubt yourself. Practice calmness so that you can get in touch with your inner self. And that is Going to guide you. Here is my fourth. Individualize your decision. And what I mean by that is I think the decision to reopen the economy is a very individualized one. It is not the same for every person. You got to do what you think is best for you, but do that safely. Look, if you're still afraid, but you do have enough financial reserves, then I think you should stay home, you know, take it easy, you know, let this pass and I think you should be alright. However, if you do not have enough money, you are struggling and you need to just go out there and work. Just go ahead and do it when the economy reopens. But again, I just can't emphasize enough. You got to take precaution, keep outdoor activities to a minimum. Do the bare minimum. Just get the stuff done, you know, to get by for now. So the local and national government should do everything that they can to protect the public during these difficult times. Mandate should be passed that everyone should follow the same basic rules until the pandemic passes. Completely wear masks in public places, use hand sanitizers. I mean, there is no reason we cannot produce all the masks and sanitizers that are necessary. Maintain social distancing and open essential services. First, I think we should open the economy in phases. Test the waters, make sure things are going alright. Have in place all the local and national government authorities to monitor this closely. Encourage people to work from home where possible. More tests should be available for people. I think we should do everything we can to do contact tracing and quarantine people based on the test results. I think antibody tests should be made widely available for people to check if they already got infected and if they got some immunity against this virus. At least for the time being. You know what? There is no reason why we can't do this. As the most powerful nation on the earth than South Korea, Germany, other countries are doing it. I think we need to get our act together on this, guys. I think we need to have the humility to follow the best practices the other nations are already following. Adapt them to your needs here. Alright guys, thanks for watching my video on the five recommendations on how to reopen the economy safely. I am on a mission to help people stay calm in the midst of this chaos. It will only help me help more people. If you could subscribe to this channel and like this video. Thanks so much. Sa.
