Foreign. Hi everyone. Chris Stout here. Going to cover the battery tender for my 2023 Corvette Smart Option C51 coupe. And really kind of a must have. I live in the Midwest and we the car pretty much will be in the garage over the winter and with all the electronics and stuff I want to keep the battery up to. Up to snuff. This is the code for it. This is the factory from the factory gm. It's an option sometimes if you want to opt for it or you can certainly buy it through their parts department. It's very nice, very nice kit and presentation. Like the logo on the box comes with a storage bag when you're not using it. Here's the owner's manual for it. That explains everything. With it pretty straightforward and then just again very nice to unbox it here with one hand. But it's basically twist tied in here, zip stripped in here into the box. I haven't removed it so it's a really little stubborn stick to get out but you get the idea. So really pretty straightforward with this. We will have it out and show you how to install it in the car. Okay, and we're back. We're at the car. Here's the charger. It's not plugged into either the car or to power. The manual suggests that you do it into the car first. So that's what we'll do. It's in the we're. If you don't realize we're in the front of the C8 the frunk as some people call it and you just this piece, this little protective piece comes off. Just set it down there for a second and then there is a. Like an old conventional cigarette lighter so to speak. Old school 12 volt. And it just simply plugs in like that. Now it's plugged into power in the wall and you can see you want to have a green light which means that everything is a okay. It generally always starts as I've seen and learned in other videos at this light and then it'll just continue to go on and then to a full charge. If there's any problems or errors then then you'll have that light on. So everything looks good. If there are any hiccups with it you can take a look at the manual. There's a five year warranty on it which is really kind of pretty amazing and cool. I just really appreciate the simplicity. It's kind of cool to have the branding of it and then you know everything is a okay with how you have things set up for the battery and for the charger, general recommendations is if you don't drive it for a few days is to put it on. I think my habit will be. Because it's not a daily driver. It's winter right now, it snows outside, so I won't be going out for a bit. But general idea is to just kind of leave it in your garage. Super handy to be able to plug it in. Of course, you could leave it in the frunk, you could put it in the little pouch that comes with it to keep it tidy. So it just really depends upon your use. A couple of other little tips. You can see that this light is on right now because the lid is fully open. What I'm going to do, which I'll just kind of describe, I've got a microfiber cloth. So let's see if I can go ahead and just demonstrate it. So I'm gonna. Because I'm just always kind of super snickety about paint finishes and things like that. I'm going to put the microfiber cloth out just to give a little bit of added protection to the paint, just to keep it off it. That way I'll straighten it up in a minute and back to the light. So for safety reasons, they've got a two latch mechanism for the hood. When you put it down originally, it's not even clicked in and then it'll click once like that, which you can hear and you can probably tell it's not fully down. So what's happened is that light is turned off. It's not fully down or secure, but it's down enough to turn the light off and it is up enough to not create a pinch in your cord. You can see I can put my finger in here very easily. So with that I've got protection from my paint. I'm not inadvertently discharging any kind of electricity or voltage through that front trunk, front hood, if you will, or frunk if you like light. And then I can just always maintain and see that everything's looking good here and plugged in. So that is everything for kind of tucking away and keeping this. 2023 C8Z51.2LT tendered for winter or not use not being in use.
