The New GORUCK Weighted Vest is here!

Chris Stout reviews GORUCK's new weighted vest plates, 9.25 lbs each, designed with an open shape to let your diaphragm move freely during heavy lifts. They stay put during weighted squats and pull-ups, unlike a ruck pack that shifts around. Stout's training for Everest Base Camp and the May MRF event.

Everyone, Chris Stout here. Welcome back to the channel. I just got this really well taped up box open that just came from Goruck and they are very supportive in my work with training for Everest for the Everest Base Camp and climb and just very proud to be working with them. This is a big fan. Their ruck and my plates and my ruck are downstairs and getting ready to go on a winter afternoon ruck here in Door County. And I'm just thrilled. I can't do this with one hand, but thrilled now to try out their new best which will be great because I'm going to be doing the MRF again this year in May and I just really prefer if I'm going to do weighted air squats and push ups and pull ups to not do it with a ruck pack because just the off balance of that I don't care for. But this, I'm really excited about this. This is just a fun little bit. Embrace the suck which I just very much try to live by that ethos and very much appreciate that with this is I probably should have pre opened this but this is their new plates. So I have ordered two of their 9.5 pound weights. The plates that I have in the ruck are solid plates. I mean they could, you know, be like a bulletproof vest, so to speak. These are open and shaped this way so it should allow for easier breathing, less restricted diaphragm movement for doing, you know, whatever it is I'm going to be doing in that. So I'm going to hit pause, open this up and then show you what these look like unbagged. Okay. And we are back. We are now unboxed. I have to say. Goruck boxes their shipping materials so well and they do it just as bulletproof as they do their gear. I mean that was. It's just really amazing. It's so nice to get because these things are heavy. I'm sure the UPS delivery person did not have a fun time bringing this to the door, but I think this is just brilliant. This is such a clever great design. So you can maybe see down here if it shows up, 9.25 pounds and 4.2 kilograms. These are again just solid and bulletproof. Got the Goruck logo embedded in them. Just really a nice feel and what a clever way to go about doing this. So I know from having had a vest before and having plates in it, it can be kind of tricky to manage the placement of it. So there's no way I'm going to be able to demonstrate that for you. Today, probably really no need to do it either. But once they're in, the plates are in, they stay in place, they are not falling out. You never have to worry about it. So. So that's one of the things I just really love about Goruck. I can. I mean, I'm hard on my equipment by virtue of how I use it, not how I take care of it, but I feel like with Goruck, like, I don't worry about, like, here's my, here's my sandbag, use it every night indoors even. That I don't have to worry about, like when I take the sandbag doing hill repeats and I throw it down once I get to the top of the hill, that it's going to bust, that there's going to be any kind of problem with it. So I really appreciate, I really appreciate the spirit of things. A good sense of humor, a good sense of community, a good sense of camaraderie. High quality stuff made in the United States. Great quick shipping. Never have to worry about things being busted or broken by the time it gets to you and just makes all the difference in terms of, you know, your own spirit and attitude about working out and feeling like you've got a good partnership with people that care about what it is that you're doing and they care about what it is that they're doing. So again, big fan. Thanks a lot. Big shout out to Goruck. Now I got to go go get on the hills myself. Take care.
