Dr. Barrett says DIY microneedling works and is cheap, endorses phenol peels if you know what you're doing, and warns against CoolSculpting, lip flips, and thread lifts. He calls thread lifts temporary with serious complications.

Dr. Barrett, love it or leave it? Do-it-yourself microneedling.
Love it, why not? It works. Like, if you have a limited budget and you want to get a microroller, I don't think it's a bad idea.
Fat freezing.
Like CoolSculpting? Um, leave it. It's not as good as people think it is.
Lip flips.
Leave it. It doesn't work for everybody.
Aggressive chemical peels.
Love it, actually. They work pretty good, like especially phenol peels if you know how to do it, but you really got to know what you're doing with those things.
Thread lifts.
Leave it. The results are somewhat temporary and the complications are pretty bad.
Laser resurfacing.
Love it. Works great. Tried and tested. Decades.
