Dr. Barrett explains Motiva breast implants, which have a nanotextured surface that may reduce capsular contracture risk compared to smooth implants. The texture makes them feel slightly firmer and larger sizes are more prone to bottoming out. He recommends consulting a surgeon who offers multiple implant options.

Hey, Dr. Barrett, tell me about Motiva implants. Okay, so Motiva implants, uh, a lot of marketing on these right now. They're, they're very popular. We have them. The advantage of these things is they have a nanotexture on it and it prevents capsular contracture more so than a smooth implant. If you don't have a problem with capsular contracture, it might not be the most advantageous, mainly because it's a little bit firmer as compared to like a smoother implant. So you can really see the smoothness difference here. And the other part of that is sometimes if you go a certain size, it ends up bottoming out a little bit more. I think they're great. I don't think they're the perfect implant for everybody, so I would go to somebody that offers different types of implants, and so they can kind of go over the needs that you have to find out what implant is best for you.
