A plastic surgeon explains why round implants often look more natural than shaped ones. Round implants placed under the muscle create a natural teardrop shape, while shaped implants tend to overprojection and can rotate. Shaped implants are often texturized to prevent rotation, but that surface has been linked to a rare lymphoma.

Round versus shaped implant. People ask me all the time, should I get a shaped implant? It looks like a breast, right? It seems like it goes right here, might, might make it look more natural. Well, the reality is a round implant actually looks better if done properly. If placed partially underneath the muscle here, you get more of a teardrop shape. When you actually use a shaped implant, it actually overprojects the bottom part of the breast because most people already have breast tissue on the bottom. So when this gets overprojected on the bottom, it looks kind of more like a banana, and that's not so natural, is it? The other problem is that these can rotate, and they use them in Europe sometimes. When they do, they have to texturize them, and the texture can lead to a rare anaplasia plastic large cell lymphoma. So my advice is stick with the brown ones.
