A plastic surgeon explains the pencil test: if a pencil stays under your breast, it may sag enough to need a lift. If your nipple sits below the fold where the pencil rests, a lift is even more likely. An implant plus lift gives the perkiest result.

This is how you can tell if you need a breast lift. One relative way to see if you need a breast lift or not is to take a pencil and put it underneath your breast, and if it holds it, that's generally a sign that you might need a breast lift. Now, more, more specifically, if you look at your nipple position and if this pencil is all the way up right where your inframammary fold is and your nipple is down below that level, chances are even more so that you might need a breast lift. Sometimes people are in a gray zone where you can actually you know, use an implant to kind of lift it up or do an internal lift. But if you're looking for that ultimate perky look, a lift is the way to go. Oftentimes we still do an implant because we need that perkiness in the top portion. So implant lift is the one-two perfect combination. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about this, or if you've done your pencil test.
