Dr. Katie To explains how a smile makeover test drive lets you preview your new smile before any permanent work. You can adjust details like tooth length, then work backwards to figure out what treatment you actually need instead of guessing.
Chapters
Why patients love the test drive, and again, it removes the fear of the unknown. You get to see that new smile on your face and decide if you're confident with this. And plenty of times I've had patient, most of the patients actually really love it, but there are times where patients have said, but I actually want the two front teeth to be shorter, to be more even with everything else. And that's totally cool. And I'm really happy to hear things like that because now I can fix the design and not have guesswork. So now we're not surprised and there's peace of mind for the patient because it's gonna be designed around what they want. And it's crazy to think about back in the day when we used to do smile makeovers and cutting tooth structure and even the doctor doesn't even know what it's gonna look like until the final product is in. And now it's gonna be much harder to go back and fix it instead of having it planned in the first place. So we always start with the end in mind and then how do we get there? We work backwards on whether we're doing restorations, whether we need to do orthodontics or whatever it is.
