Dr. Noah St. John, who invented and trademarked Afformations, says Vishen Lakhiani rebranded his method as lofty questions without credit. St. John introduced Afformations in his 1998 book Permission to Succeed and presented it to Mindvalley in 2015-2016. He's asking for proper attribution going forward.

Hi, my name is Dr. Noah St. John, and I'm the inventor, creator, and father of the Affirmations Method. Today, I'd like to address a serious issue that has come to my attention. The Affirmations Method is a proprietary system that I developed through extensive research and experience and is a critical component of my teachings and body of work. I've invested countless hours, resources, and dedication into the creation, development, and promotion of the Affirmations Method. It has come to my attention that Vishen is using the affirmations method in his teachings and presentations, and presenting it as his own creation, known as lofty questions. This is not only a disservice to me, but it also undermines the integrity and value of the affirmations method for those who have learned from and benefited from it. Vishen's use of the affirmations method is particularly concerning given that I conducted a program for Mindvalley in 2015, during which I spoke about the affirmations method and its impact. I also spoke about the Affirmations Method on stage at a Mindvalley event in 2016, and it is unacceptable that Vishen would present this as his own creation. In addition, the Affirmations Method was first introduced to the world in my book Permission to Succeed, which was published in 1998. The Affirmations Method is a trademarked term and proprietary system that I created, and it is imperative that proper attribution is given to me as its inventor and creator in any future use of the method. I am creating this video to respectfully request that proper attribution be given to the Affirmations Method and my role as its inventor in any future use of the method. I believe it is essential to maintain the integrity of my teachings and the value of the Affirmations Method for those who have learned from and benefited from it. I want to express my gratitude to all those who have learned from and benefited from the Affirmations Method. And I am dedicated to continuing to share this method and its positive impact with as many people as possible. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the Affirmations Method, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or visit the official Affirmations website at affirmations.com.
