But with that said, I want everyone watching and listening at home to welcome my guest, Dr. Noah St. John. Now we obviously just met. And I'm, I can't wait to hear more of your story for myself, but I'm curious, who are you and why are you here?
Well, you know, my story starts many years ago and it begins that I grew up poor in a rich neighborhood. Now I know that's a total cliché, but it's totally true. I grew up in this little town called Kennebunkport, Maine, which happens to be one of the wealthiest communities in New England. But my family was dirt poor. And I mean that literally because we lived at the bottom of a dirt road in a drafty unfinished house that my parents ended up losing to foreclosure when I was just 15 years old. So anyone who's ever been through an experience like that knows it's very traumatic, whether it's happened to you or someone you know, it's a very traumatic experience. So growing up, I was painfully exposed to the gap, the chasm between the haves and the have-nots. The haves was everyone else in the community. And the have-nots was my family. Now you hear that, you hear this all the time, you hear motivational speakers, they'll get on stage and they'll say something like, well, we were poor, but we were happy. We didn't know we were poor. Well, in my family, we freaking knew we were poor because my mother, bless her heart, reminded us every day that we were poor and miserable. So Noah wasn't happy. It sucked. And so from a very young age, I hated that life of poverty, lack, fear, not enoughness. That's what I grew up with. But I saw that right down the street, there's great wealth and abundance. So I literally said, from the time I was a little kid, how the heck do I get from here to there? You know, now of course there was no one who could answer that question for me. There was no internet back then or things like all the things we have today. So I did the only thing that I could think of to do, which is I went to the library. And I read every book in the self-help section. I just went to the self-help section and I just read every book, you know, every, all the classics, Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Stephen Covey. I read every book in the self-help section and I really worked hard and I really tried to get it to work. But as hard as I worked and as hard as I tried, I just couldn't seem to get it to work. So at the age of 25, I was living in Los Angeles. You know, I was broke. I was poor. I had no money. My girlfriend just left me. It was like a country song, you know, but it was true, you know. It was really happening to me. And so, um, I made a decision at that time to take my own life. I decided to commit suicide at the age of 25. Now, at the very last moment, my life was spared. Now, I didn't know why. And so I realized I've got to find out what am I doing here on this planet? Why am I here? You know, what is my purpose in life? You know, questions we humans have been asking for centuries, right? But I didn't know how to answer that question. And so I realized I got to find the answer. Otherwise, you know, I'm going to just stay in this Lousy life forever. And so I did the only thing I could think of to do, which is I went back to the library and this time I read every book in the spiritual section, you know, all the spiritual thinkers of our time. And I read all those books. And so fast forward 5 years later in 1997, I had these epiphanies and I realized exactly what was missing in all those books I'd spent all those years reading that no one was talking about. And I knew, 'cause I'd read every book in there, you know? And so I said, oh my gosh, this is my purpose. This is why I'm here. It's what's missing, what no one's talking about. And this is the very thing that had been missing for me for so many, for all these years. And I knew that I couldn't be alone in that. I knew that I wasn't alone. I know there's millions of people. There had to be millions of people like me searching for the same thing, because as Emerson said, what is most personal is most universal. And so that's when I realized, well, this is my purpose. And so in 1997, I started my company, successclinic.com. That's You know, you can still go that we're still here, but I started this in 1997 in a 300-square-foot basement apartment with $800 and a book on HTML. So I had nothing. I had, you know, no money, no marketing, no sales, no business experience of any kind. I just had this dream and, you know, a desire to leave a dent in the universe. And so, you know, I published my first book, which was called Permission to Succeed back in 1998. It was subsequently Published by the Chicken Soup for the Soul publisher in 1999. And now, as you mentioned, you know, 25 books later and over, you know, 27 years later, now we've helped our clients add over $3 billion, you know, using my formula, my methods. And most importantly, we've helped people all around the world in over 120 countries to win their lives back. So yes, we've helped people add 6 figures, 7 figures, even 8 figures to their business after they'd been stuck for years and going to all the seminars out there. And they were still hitting that income ceiling. So we've helped them to break through and really create amazing lives. And we've also saved marriages. We've helped people lose weight and actually helped other people also save their lives. People who have written to me or, you know, contacted me on social media and said, you know, they were going to take their own lives. Like I almost did. And, you know, because they read one of my books or got one of my courses, they decided not to take their own life. So that's the ripple effect, you know, that, that one person can have. So the message really for everybody listening and watching is, you know, make sure that you do what you, whatever you can to follow your dreams because you just never know where they'll lead.
For sure, man. What a story. So such a great, uh, man, so many things. And I always find it interesting that when We've came from a place of poor, from lack, that we ultimately have the choice. Like we can continue that cycle of poverty, continue that cycle of a fixed lack, lack scarcity mindset, or we can choose to be the catalyst of change for our entire lineage. And I love that. That's what you decided to do. And now you're helping others do the same. And it was really interesting when you said you went to the library and you read, like, I'm sure everyone that watches this, uh, they're into that whole personal growth, that self-development.
Mm-hmm.
You said that something was missing. So I'm curious, what do you think was that thing that was missing that you now are providing?
Well, uh, I now call it the Power Habit System. And so the full title of what I really discovered is called The Power Habits of Unconsciously Successful People. Now that sounds like a mouthful, but I'll break it down for you. So whenever we humans want to master a new habit, we go through 4 stages. The first stage is unconscious incompetence. That means you don't know, you don't know. The second stage is conscious incompetence. That means, you know, you don't know. The third stage is conscious competence, which is, you know, you know. And then the final stage is unconscious competence, which is you do without thinking. So like, for example, I have the privilege of doing keynote presentations, keynote speeches all around the world, whether live or virtually for, you know, teams, organizations, corporations, companies all around the world. Whether live or virtually. And, you know, one of the examples I use in my presentations is driving a car, right? Most people listening to this program, I'm sure, know how to drive a car right now. But did you know that you had to go through those 4 stages to do this thing called drive a car, right? The first stage is you didn't know, you didn't know how to drive a car, right? Nobody comes out of the womb and says, hey, where's my car? Nobody does that, right? That's not possible. So you don't know, you don't know. Then you get to a certain age and you're like, man, I really want to get away from my parents, but oh man, all I have is this bicycle and I can't get far enough from my parents on the bike. So, oh gosh, darn it. I got to drive a car. Oh man, I don't know how to drive a car. Right. So now, you know, you don't know how to drive a car. So that's the second. Then the third stage is you learn how to drive a car, right? You went to driver's ed. I don't know about, you know, for the folks listening, but you know, when I learned how to drive a car, we had this Buick that was about a city block long. I mean, it was this enormous thing and it was like, it was really hard, you know, because it's this huge car and you're like, you don't know what you're doing and like, ah, and it's so scary. All these, you know, inputs coming at your brain. Um, and at the, at the beginning, of course, it's really hard, but now today for, I'm sure. Almost everybody listening, you know, you're doing this thing that was really hard and you didn't even know how to do it. And now you do it every day without even thinking about it. You are literally not thinking about this thing. You're thinking about 27 other things, but you're not thinking about this thing called driving a car, right? So that's unconscious competence. So, and you know, there's literally dozens of things, maybe hundreds that we do every day that we actually went through those 4 stages. So what I realized that's different and that makes my coaching and my books and my trainings different. Is what I realized is that highly successful people, I call these the naturals of success, are doing things unconsciously that they don't even know they're doing, number one. And therefore, number two, they can never teach it to you.
Yeah.
Because think about this. There's lots of books and trainings out there that talk about the conscious habits of successful people, right? I mean, this goes back to, you know, Napoleon Hill and, and Stephen Covey and, and, you know, all these great seminal books in self-help that talked about the conscious habits. So, hey, if you want to be successful, Do what successful people do. Makes perfect sense, right? We've heard that a million times, but here's the problem, right? Books like that, they interviewed or surveyed all these successful people and they said, so how did you become so successful? Well, you do this, this, and this. Okay. So, okay. Do this, this, and this, and you become successful. Well, how come millions of people have read those books and not everyone's successful? It's because of what I realized. It's because of what I teach. It's those missing habits, those hidden habits, those unconscious habits. So it's exactly like an iceberg, right? I'm sure most people are familiar with the iceberg principle, right? About 5% of our habits, thoughts, and behaviors are conscious, right? That's like the top part of the iceberg that you can see. But meanwhile, you've got the 95% of the iceberg that's below the surface. It's hidden. You can't see it. Well, it's exactly like this with these power habits, right? And so the power habits are the unconscious habits of highly successful people that they don't know they're doing. And therefore you could interview them all day. They won't even tell you, not that they're trying to hide something necessarily, but they don't even know they're doing it. They are literally unconscious and unconsciously competent at allowing themselves to succeed. So that's what I discovered, and that's what makes my teachings, my coaching, and my books different. And I'll give you, I mean, I can give you a lot of examples of this, but let me give you one quick example that comes to mind. That I think many of your listeners and viewers can relate to. So I was speaking at a conference in Los Angeles for a group of entrepreneurs. Now, these were about 1,000 entrepreneurs, and these are highly successful people, you know, 7 and 8-figure earners, very successful people, right? And I was giving my presentation and talking about, you know, everything I'm talking about right now. And so I finished my presentation. I was walking off the stage and a man came up to me. And he said, Noah, you are the coach that I've been looking for. He said, I want to hire you as my coach. Now, I didn't know this man from Adam. Ironically, his name was Adam. True story, not making that up. Anyway, so I said, okay, well, what's going on? He said, Noah, you know, I own this company. I'm the CEO and we are doing well, but we have been stuck at the same level for the last 4 years. We've been stuck at this set and it was a 7-figure level. He's at 7 figures, which is great, right? But he said, we've been stuck for the past 4 years and we can't break through. And he said, I've hired every marketing guru out there. You know, he named all the big gurus and he said, I spent all this money, but we can't break through that income ceiling. And he said, as soon as I heard you speak about, you know, power habits and unconsciously competent and, you know, foot on the brake and everything you just said, He said, I knew that you were the coach that I've been looking for. And, you know, that's why I love working with high achievers, by the way, because high achievers, you know, they make decisions quickly and firmly. They don't dilly-dally. They don't have paralysis by analysis. They don't have to do all that stuff. They just, they just take action. So I love working with high achievers. Anyway, so he hired me on the spot. And anyway, I coached him for 18 months. And in that 18 months, we were able to get his company that had been stuck, plateaued for the previous 4 years. To over $20 million in sales, over $20 million, a 600% increase in less than 18 months. Now we like to call that hockey stick growth, right? Because, you know, like a hockey stick, like it's kind of going along like this and then it's like, you know, so the magic was exactly what I'm sharing with you right now. It was these unconscious power habits of unconsciously successful people. And that is what made the difference for him. And of course has made the difference for many people. You know, who have followed my coaching.
Man, that is, that is so good. And I love this unique approach to this whole space that you've, you've found. And I'm curious with your experience in coaching now for a while, and as you've mentioned more, is what do you think is the most common power habit, unconscious habit that you've seen in those highly successful people that you've worked with?
Well, there are are actually 11 power habits. Okay. And so I talk about these, you know, in my books, like amazingly Power Habits, right? And people can go to powerhabitsbook.com and get this, of course, get this on Amazon or anywhere books are sold. But one of them is one, another really unique thing that I discovered, which is called Afformations. Now, just so you know, and this is another book that I wrote from, and this is my book from Hay House. I won't hold up all 25 books, I promise. But anyway, This is something that I discovered many years, in fact, in 1997, also called Afformations. Now you can go to afformations.com and you can learn more about my Afformations method. So this is something that I discovered in 1997 that just over a million people around the world absolutely love and are using. So Let me explain how it works. Okay. So everybody listening to this program knows what an affirmation is, right? The, the old method called affirmations, right? We've all heard this. Why have we heard it? Because every book in self-help ever written other than mine talks about affirmations, right? So like in my keynote presentations, another thing I like to do is say, all right, everybody, now you've all heard of affirmations, right? And everybody says, yes. I say, okay, we're going to use an affirmation just like the gurus. Taught us, and everybody say, "I am rich," and everybody goes, "I am rich." You know what happens next? Everybody starts laughing, and I go, "What are you laughing at?" They go, "Well, I'm not rich," and I say, "But you just said you were," and they go, "Yeah, but I don't believe it." Aha! Now isn't that the problem with that old method, right? With the old affirmations method, what we've been taught for decades, right? Every every guru says the same thing. Well, just say these statements. You know, same over and over again, same in the positive, use a lot of emotion, and then it'll change your life. It'll change your beliefs and then you'll change your life, right? You're like, yeah, sure. So we've all heard this a million times. We've all tried it. So why doesn't it work that well? Right. And so I use my example, you know, like I shared earlier, I would using these, I mean, every book said the same thing, right? So I was following the directions. I wrote it down, but all of my, you know, walls and Post-it notes and everything, you know, I'm happy, I'm rich, I'm successful. And the reality was, no, I'm not. I'm broke, unhappy, and miserable. Right? So it's like, what the heck is wrong here? What aren't they telling us? Right? They're leaving something out. They're always leaving something out. And so I, so I was actually, and I talk about this in my books and my training programs, uh, I was in the shower one morning in April 1997. I call it the shower that changed everything. Right? I'm sure everybody listening to this program has had that shower moment, right? That aha moment in the shower or the bathtub. I mean, this goes back to the ancient Greeks, right? That eureka moment, right? And for some reason it has to do with water. It's just one of those things, right? Anyway, so this was the shower that changed anything. It was April 1997. And I was thinking about this very point and I was going, how come I've been using these affirmations, doing everything they told us, and I'm not getting anything I want? So I was thinking about it. I was so frustrated. I said, well, let's really, let's really look at this. All right. So what are we talking about here? We're talking about beliefs, right? Because if you want to change your life, you got to change your beliefs. Okay. I knew that part was true. So I said, but what is a belief? And I said, well, a belief is just a thought. Okay, well, what is thought? And the more that I thought about that, I realized that human thought is the process of asking and searching for answers to questions, not statements, but questions. In fact, I'll prove it to you right now. I'll prove it to everybody, right? So I'm going to ask you a question. I want you to see what happens. Why is the sky blue? Sky blue. Now, do you know what just happened in your brain? You just started to search for the answer, right? Even if you don't know the answer to the question, your brain automatically Started searching for the answer. In fact, some of you probably just went to Google and say, why is the sky blue? Right? What are you doing? You're searching for an answer. I asked you a question. You're searching for it. Now you can't not do this. This is called the embedded presupposition factor of the brain. That's just a fancy way of saying when you ask a question, your brain automatically searches for the answer. So I said, well, now wait a second. If the human brain is automatically searching for answers to questions, why are we going around making statements we don't believe? Why don't we just cut out the middleman? And I said, well, I don't know. What would that look like? Let's see. You've got this statement or affirmation, right? We've heard it a million times. I am rich. To which your brain replies, Yeah, right, right. That's what happens in the brain. So I said, if that's the statement, then what would the question be? And then I said, why am I so rich? Why am I so rich? Now, when you ask that question, what instantly, immediately starts to happen in your brain? You start to search for the answer. So what I'm teaching in my books and my coaching and my programs is the law of sowing and reaping. As you sow, so shall you reap. Now, this has been taught for centuries, right? It's nothing new. It's been taught for centuries. And yet, what are we sowing? We're sowing seeds of thought. And yet, what are we What are most people doing? Sowing lousy thought seeds. Why am I so stupid? Why am I so fat? Why can't I lose weight? Why isn't my business growing? Why can't I get more clients or customers? Why is there more month left at the end of the money? Hmm. When you ask lousy questions, what do you get?
Lousy answers.
Right. And that creates lousy habits and that creates a lousy life. So I said, now wait a second. What if instead of asking lousy questions that lead to lousy answers and create lousy habits and create a lousy life, what if we just flip the whole thing on its head? Start asking empowering questions that lead to phenomenal answers, create power habits, and create an amazing, wonderful life. And as I was standing there in the shower, April 1997, I said, holy cow, I think I just invented something. And so I had to give it a name. And the name that I gave it was Afformations. Again, it's A-F-F-O-R-M-A-T-I-O-N-S. You go to afformations.com and all you have to do to remember it is you just go, oh, Afformations. Oh, Afformations. It's easy to remember, right? And so now because of my discovery, we have over a million, we call them Afformers all around the world, right? Over a million Afformers, people who have now, you know, either read my books or taken my coaching or, you know, taken my online courses. And now they have switched from affirming to Afforming. And that has changed their lives. That's one of the main reasons we're able to get these huge hockey stick growth, 6, 7, and 8 figure Increases along with all the other power habits. So affirmations are the foundational power habit that everybody loves, and the reason they love 'em is cuz they freaking work.
Wow. Come on. This is brilliant. And I agree. I, I'm in the same similar thought. And even when I'm coaching my clients, uh, I feel like it's so important that they're, they're one powerful question away. From setting themselves up on the trajectory for the real success they're looking for. Because it's like you said, I too, when I first started my whole journey in self-help, it's like, oh, you got the affirmations? Great. I'm going to say it till I believe it. But what happens if you don't believe it? And it's that pattern interrupt. It's that, oh, and so many times I've seen it just in daily life. You see the people that they'll sit there and they'll be like, why am I this way? Or they'll sit there and they'll just re— Rewire and reprogram the same thing over and over again. They're like, "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't. I don't remember names." It's the small ones like that. Like that's one that always used to get me. Oh, I'm terrible at remembering names.
No, I'm not.
I'm great at remembering names. I'm great. And when you do that, those simple shifts, and you start thinking, "But why am I so great at remembering names?" And then you think, "I'm great at remembering names because I'm tying." Not only the face to the name, but I'm tying the story of their life to their name. And, and there's so many ways, and then you're automatically, you start going into that direction. I think that's so cool. And another thing you mentioned is you also say that head trash is the number one reason so many people feel stuck. What is head trash and how does it keep people stuck?
For everyone listening to the program, I want you to think about the 3 goals that you have for the next 12 months. All right. So think about the 3 things that you, that you really want, you know, so it can be in terms of money, income, your business, your career promotions. It can be in relationships. You know, you want to find the love of your life. You want to have a happy marriage, happy family life. It can be with your health, right? It can be, you know, I want to lose some weight. I want to get in shape. I want to have 6-pack abs, whatever it might be. Right. So those are the 3 main areas of life, right? Health, wealth, and relationships. Okay. So we've heard, we've, we've heard that a million times, right? Set your goals, set your goals. Oh, he's talking about setting goals. We've heard that a million times. Yes. But here's what nobody talks about. Okay. Nobody talks about what happens after you set the goal. All right. So here's what happens for most people. For most people, they, they think about what they want. They write it down, you know, they're doing all the, you know, the SMART goals and all this stuff we've heard a million times, but what nobody talks about Is what happens afterwards. So what happens after for most people is they write their goals or they think about it and they say, I really want this. I don't think I can do it.
Right.
I really, I don't think, oh, you know, Noah, and this is what I hear, you know, every day from, from people who contact me on social media, go to my website and hire me to coach them, whether it's one-on-one coaching or group coaching. Well, no, I want to grow my business. I want to make more money, but, uh, I don't think I can do it because I don't have the time, you know, or I just don't have the energy. I can't afford it. I don't have the money. I don't have the right contacts. I don't know. I don't know who to talk to. Or, you know, my spouse won't let me do it. You know, I just, I don't think he'll support me or she'll support me. And, oh, I've got kids or I'm divorced. I'm a Martian, you know, whatever it is. Right. And so we have so many excuses, don't we, of why we can't do the things that we actually said we want to do. And what's, here's what's amazing. Now, Henry Ford many years ago said, whether you believe you can or you can't, you're right. Now, with all due respect to Mr. Ford, I've adapted that phrase for our modern times. And here's how I teach it. Whether you believe you can or you believe you can't, you make yourself right. You make yourself right. So exactly using that example you just gave. Oh, I'm not good with names. You're right. Yeah. Okay. We're done. I mean, that's the end of the discussion. You're going to make yourself right. We humans have an infinite capacity to make ourselves right.
Come on.
That is exactly what I'm, you know, this is basically, I've written 25 books on this one subject, how to take out your head trash. So that's how I teach head trash. Head trash is the voice in your head that says, I can't do it because. Dot, dot, dot. I can't do it because, and then you just fill in the blank and whatever you say after, because you always make yourself right. I can't do it because boom, you're right. So friends, everyone listening to this program, this is one area of your life where you don't want to be right.
Come on.
Right? I'm inviting you to look at this and say, hmm, do I really want to be right about this?
Right?
Or is there another way of looking at this? Let me give you an example. So for thousands of years, right, we humans believed the earth was flat, right? You walk outside and of course it's flat, dumb dumb. I mean, just look around. Of course it's flat. You look at the ocean, right? You go too far, you're going to fall off the edge. Anybody can see that. What are you, stupid? Right? I mean, that's duh.
Yeah. Right?
Then did you know that in the 6th century BC, some Greeks like Eratosthenes and Pythagoras, they actually proved the earth was round. They proved it mathematically. You know, many, many years before Columbus and others, you know, sailed around the world and said, hey, we made it. We didn't fall off. What do you know? You know, so anyway, this has been proven for, for thousands of years now.
Right.
But the, you know, of course there's still some people that think it's flat, which is another conversation, but hello. Anyways, we all know, of course, the Earth is not flat, even though it looks like it is, right, from our limited perspective. Another example, right? For thousands of years, we humans believe the sun goes around the Earth. Well, of course it is, dumb dumb. Just look outside. Of course the sun's going around. What is your problem? Duh.
Right?
Then a guy named Galileo comes along with a telescope and he goes, uh, guys, I hate to tell you this, but the Earth's going around the sun. And what'd they do with him? They threw him in jail.
Right?
Of course. Right? Because what's that? What do all of these things mean? They mean a change in perspective, a change in perspective, right? So from our limited perspective here on Earth, you know, we say, oh, You know, obviously the earth is flat and sun's going around the earth. Not so much. No, that is not true. They're just, those things aren't true, but it took a change in perspective for us to see the truth. And so that's what it's like with your head trash, right? Your head trash is from your limited perspective. It's totally true. Well, of course I can't do it. No, well, you don't understand what I've gone through. You're right. I've only heard it a million times and you're right. Yes. I don't know. I have, I have no idea what you're going through. I mean, come on. I've heard every excuse in the book 10,000 times. And, you know, I, and I'm not suggesting that, you know, people haven't gone through trauma or tragedy or loss or pain. We've all gone through those things. That's unfortunately the human experience. At least part of it is called pain and loss, right? And trauma and tragedy in many cases. It's sad, but true. So the question is, what are you going to do about it? What are you going to do with that pain? What are you going to do about that loss? Are you going to become a victim? Are you going to stay a victim? Are you going to stay and keep telling yourself, I can't do it because, or are you going to rise above? That's one of the reasons, by the way, that I share my story. You know, for many years, I never shared my story of deciding to commit suicide. I never shared that story because I didn't want people to feel like I was sharing it, you know, for, for self-pity or for, you know, poor me or something like that, which is of course Not why I shared it at all, but it was actually ironic because one day I was at one of my seminars and, you know, there are about 1,000 people there and somebody asked me a question from the audience and, you know, basically just asked me, well, how, you know, why do you do this, Noah? And how'd you ever come to do this? And I, I just kind of blurted it out that, you know, well, when I was 25, I decided to commit suicide and it was like, it was like a gasp in the room and, you know, cause I'd never shared that before. And then I, and people came up to me after and said, wow, Noah, that was so powerful. That you, you know, thank you for sharing that. 'Cause, you know, either, you know, they had gone through something like that or they knew someone or a family member or friend or whatever. And so that's when I realized, wow, you know, I really do need to share that story because, you know, of course, thank God I'm still here, you know, and people know then that yes, I've gone through the depths of despair and depression and loss. And, you know, of course I hope nobody else has to go through that, but that's where I share that perspective, you know, from, from my experience saying, you know, whatever loss or pain you're going through, you know, yes, I, I, I understand and I've been there and, you know, we can, we can overcome, but you've got to do these power habits. Otherwise you're just flailing away and it's going to be a lot more difficult.
Totally, man. That, that's so good. And I, and I think it's great that you even mentioned how It's the vulnerability of speaking out. I feel like that's a, that's a habit in itself because a lot of times if we're not careful, we'll get into these habits of not speaking about the things we went through. And I feel like part of the healing and overcoming is speaking about it. And then through that, you find it's this connection that really brings humanity together. It's success and the struggle. And I think that's beautiful. And, and one of the, to kind of shift a little bit, one of the philosophies I've kind of adapted. Within my, my community and my podcast is the belief of both and. I feel like a lot of times people think that they can only have success in one area. And I really feel like there, there's a way, there's a better way to get success in all the main areas of life. So most of my listeners are father, fathers. They also run businesses or maybe they're leaders in communities. What would you say to a viewer or a listener that's Maybe wondering how they can start building that 7, 8-figure business without losing their mental health or their family in the process.
As you mentioned in your introduction, I am known for helping people make more in just 12 weeks than they did in the previous 12 months while winning their lives back. And that's a very important phrase, that last phrase. Yeah. Because there's lots of what I call the hustle bros out there, hustle and grind, right? And they're like, hey man, You gotta be working 14, 16, 18 hours a day. You gotta work on Christmas and Thanksgiving and New Year's. If you're not working all the time, then you're a loser. And I'm like, seriously, dude, really? That, how is that a life? No, no. I want my business working for me, not me working for my business. And so the point is, and actually, let me give you a perfect example of this. So I was talking with one of my clients, his name's Charles. And I asked him a question I ask all of my clients, whether they're one-on-one or group coaching, you know, we have both. And so I asked him, I said, and you know, speaking about this thing we're just talking about, the head trash, right? So I, I ask every one of my clients this question. How much do you think your head trash is going to cost you over the next 12 months if you don't take out your head trash? In other words, if you don't fix this one problem, and by the way, this is the one problem that's causing all your other problems, right? If you think about it, really think about it, your head trash is in fact the cause of all of these other problems. You know, people think, oh, I got money problems. I got health problems. I got, Relationship problems. Yeah, maybe, but those are all symptoms. They're all up here. The actual real cause is this thing that I've been fixing for over 25 years now called your head trash. So once you take out that, it's like a domino effect and everything magically gets fixed. So I asked him, I said, how much do you think your head trash is going to cost you over the next 12 months? In other words, if we don't fix this problem. Without batting an eye, he said, a million dollars. He said, Noah, if I don't fix this problem, it's easily going to cost me a million dollars over the next 12 months. So I said, you know, that's very common. I hear this every day. I mean, Every day people tell me, you know, hey Noah, if I don't take out this hedgerow, it's going to cost me half a million, a million, $2 million or more just in the next 12 months. And think about it, that goes on forever, right? It's not just a year, it's year on year, and you're losing all that money moving forward if you don't fix this problem. Anyway, so I said, it's very common. Number 2, I said, I'll tell you what, just give me 10% of that million dollars and I will find you a million dollars in the next 12 months. In other words, if you give me $1 and I give you $10 back, Is that a good deal? He goes, well, yeah, that's a good deal. So he said, all right, let's do it. So he paid me $100K. I mean, you know, that's 10% of a million, right? That's another reason I love working with high achievers. They don't have analysis paralysis. They don't dilly-dally. They don't say, oh, I got to talk to so-and-so and so. They just do it. He said, let's do it. So he literally paid me $100K to coach him for 1 year. So I coached him 1-on-1 for a year, walked him through, you know, the entire Power Habits process. And as it turns out, I didn't find him $1 million in the next 12 months. Instead, I found him $1.8 million in just 10 months.
Yeah.
Gave me a dollar. I gave him $18 back. Is that a good deal? No, that's a great deal.
Wow.
And so, and then he actually sent me an email and he said, hey Noah, guess where I am? I'm on a 7-week vacation with my wife. He said, we just bought a new RV with all this money we've got, right? So we got a lot more money. And so I bought a new RV. He said, this is something I've been dreaming of for years, but I've never had the money or the time to do it before. So we bought a new RV, taking 7 weeks off. We're driving around the country in an RV. This is a dream I've had for years. So he said, Noah, you know, because of your coaching, not only do I have more money than ever, I have more time than I've ever had before. So that's the whole point of using and utilizing these power habits is that yes, you have more money and that's great. And we all want that. But I feel more importantly, you really get to win your life back.
Man, so good. So good. So as you're talking about this, obviously getting the books is a, is a great step, but what would you say to someone watching or listening? What would be that most simplest first step that they could take to get towards this?
Well, I not only talk about inner game, which is mostly what we've been talking about. That's the PowerHabits. I also talk about outer game. Which is, you know, if you want to build your business or career, I mostly do help, you know, entrepreneurs, teams, organizations, corporations, you know, who really want to scale up and grow very quickly, you know, and we do that with the inner game, which is Powered Habits and the outer game, which is what we call the 7-Figure Expert Formula. That's the book, you know, we talked about at the beginning of the program. And so the 7-Figure Expert book and the 7-Figure Expert Formula is really where we take the inner game and the outer game and we put them together. And that's another reason why people are really able to scale up very, very quickly. Like, you know, like Adam, like Charles, and, you know, many, many others. Like Mike is another example. You know, he was able to double his income twice in just 12 weeks, you know, by coaching with me. I mean, he doubled his income and then he doubled it again all in less than 12 weeks. I mean, it's like, whoop, talk about hockey stick. So anyway, there's, you got, there's tons of stories. You can see these all on our website, but really it's about understanding that number one, if you keep hitting that income ceiling, you know, if you've been at about the same income level for, you know, a while now. You really need to understand it's either an inner game issue or an outer game issue. And mostly it's, it's usually a combination of both. So that's the point is we, we help people with both inner game and outer game. We have books, we have coaching, we have training to do that. And really whatever you do, that's really what you need to do.
For sure.
For sure.
And you mentioned that book, you've got the new book, 7 Figure Expert book. I'm curious, you mentioned that we can get it for free and I would love for my audience to go grab that for free. I myself will definitely be getting it soon. It sounds Full of insight and wisdom that I definitely would love to glean from. So where can people get that new book?

Lowest barrier of entry I can make for my, my audience to make it easy for 'em to definitely start getting That much closer to being 7-figure, 8-figure experts themselves. So, so as we begin to kind of land the plane, uh, I just have 2 more questions for you. The first being, uh, we, we've covered quite a bit, and I think there's gonna be a ton of value and insights that my audience is gonna glean from this. And again, I, I thank you for the time that you've spent, uh, being a part of the show, sharing your wisdom. Is there anything that I missed that you wanna share?
Well, I'll just mention this. There are 11 power habits. I talked about one, which is affirmations. So, you know, you really do have to do all of them. People get very, very excited about Afformations, rightly so, because it freaking works, you know? So it's like, oh my gosh, I've been using— it's kind of like saying, well, I've been driving— I've been trying to drive a nail into a wall using a chainsaw for years and it hasn't worked too well. Now I give you a hammer, it works a heck of a lot easier. So that's what Afformations really represent in the self-help universe. It really is a hammer so that you can really reach your goals much, much faster. So, but you do have to do all the other habits too. But I do make it easy for you because I give you the fill in the blank and the plug and play. Uh, but, but really that would be it. So, you know, we'd have to be here for a very long time, but just go to my website, check it out. And, uh, you know, it's all, it's all right there.
For sure. For sure. Well, I, again, thank you for being such a great guest and bringing so much value.
