Hi!
Hello! I Ask Better Questions, a story about the magic of Afformations. There it is. All right, this is our first children's book, and we're here to tell you a little about the book today, where you can get it, and why you should get it, and what it's going to do for you and your family. So hello, I'm Dr. Noah St. John, the father of Afformations.
And I'm Babette St. John, Noah's wife and And excited to be here today.
And the co-author of this book. All right, you'll see that. So this is her first book, my 26th book, number 26. Can you believe it? So I've been doing this for 30 years now. I started in a little basement apartment in 1997 with $800. And, you know, a book on HTML. That's how I started this whole thing a long, long time ago. So now here we are in our beautiful home in Northeast Ohio, and so far we have over three million people around the world who are affirmers—people who use my affirmations method. So you can watch some of the other videos here on my YouTube channel to find out more about my affirmations method. I'm not going to talk too much about it, but if you do have any questions, you can type those here in the comments or in the chat. But basically, my affirmations method is what I've been teaching people for thirty years to ask. Better questions to get better results, get better habits, and of course, live a better life. Right? So that's what my Afformations Method is. Now, Babette, I wanted you to— I would like you to talk about why we wanted to publish our first children's book. So what was the inspiration for this book?
Well, adults have issues and so does children. So there's children, adults, So why not address this at a young age from the very beginning? And then they have great resilience to combat issues that come up in their life.
And, uh, this is something that she has been bugging me to do for a long time. And she kept saying, why don't we do a children's book? And I kept saying, yeah, yeah, we'll get around to it. We'll get around to it. And I was doing other things, doing a lot of launches over the last several years, many years. And this, at the end of last year, I decided, you know what, it is time to do a children's book. So we sat down and we wrote this book, I Ask Better Questions, a story about the magic of Afformations. All right. So you can, by the way, you can get this book right now on Amazon. And the link, the direct link, we'll put that here in the chat. But it's very easy to remember. It's noahstjohn.com/questions. Easy to remember. noahstjohn.com/questions, and it'll take you right to the Amazon page. Now, the book is available in Kindle form and also hardcover and paperback. So this book is really for children, but of course it's also for parents and teachers. Now, when you go to the main website, which is iaskbetterquestions.com, you'll see that we have also created— and this is very exciting— we've created lesson plans for teachers. So for you teachers out there, if you're a teacher, You can use this in your classroom, and I've already created the lesson plans for you. This is something that we've been talking about for a long time. I talk to teachers all around the country and around the world, and one of the things they tell me, have told me, is that, you know, it takes a lot of time to develop these lesson plans. So what I did was I took that burden off of you. All right, I created these lesson plans and they're free. You just download it and print it out, and then you have these lesson plans to walk through the book with your classroom. So this book is really appropriate for grades K through 5, right? Kindergarten through 5th grade. And of course, older kids will like it too. And we've gotten actually several comments that parents and teachers and adults—
Grandparents.
And grandparents, they love it too. So frankly, when I was reading this book— I wrote this book, I co-wrote it with Babette— I was— when we went when we were finished with the book and we were done and I was rereading it, I started crying. I mean, I was literally in tears reading my own book. And what that means to me is that it really touches the emotions, like as Babette was saying, you know, as a kid. But I mean, we're kids, aren't we? No matter what age you are, you're just a big kid. Let's face it, right?
It addresses real issues. Like, for instance, Babette is me. And I didn't want to go to school because I was cozy at my own house and I was afraid. I was— I had my mom and family, and to go out into the school and everything was just very scary. So I would take my teddy bear— well, really mine was a Raggedy Ann— and would go to school. And anyway, it's real issues and it's teaching kids how to Make friends, how to be enough, how to overcome the fears and anxieties that adults have the issues, but also the kids do too. And so now we're grandparents, mother of twin daughters and a son, and they're having—
And grandmother too.
Grandmother too. And so it's, it's time to have this book come into play.
So, and we're very excited for our launch weekend. We actually, and this is true, we beat James Patterson to the number 1 spot, new releases for children's self-help and self-respect and self-esteem in that category. We beat James Patterson and I have the screenshot to prove it. So, hey, that's bragging rights right there. So I was very excited about that. Anyway. All right. So, yeah, great job. Okay. All right. So let's, if you have any questions, feel free to type those in the chat. But basically, when you get the book, It walks you through their art. We introduce 5 characters, the children. We have Noah, Babette, Cody, Mia, and Aaliyah. And each child is struggling with a different fear, anxiety issue that millions of kids can relate to. And let's face it, millions of adults too. So that's what the book is about. You could see the illustrations in here are really, really awesome. I mean, they're beautiful illustrations. You can see.
That it's real life situations.
Real, absolutely real life situations. So, you know, there's a little, there's a little bit of that, you know, she's got her teddy bear there in the corner. And she was scared. There she is. Poor thing. That really happened, you know. So there you go. And you can see the resemblance there. She's wearing the same outfit. Isn't that beautiful? Okay, so that's what I Ask Better Questions is all about. And let's just see, wanted to cover some other things too. So Oh yes, we also do speaking engagements at schools and school districts. So when you go to iaskbetterquestions.com, you can actually see a way to contact us to have us speak at your school. And of course, we do live and virtual presentations. So it doesn't just have to be here in Northeast Ohio, can be anywhere on planet Earth. And, you know, I've done tons of speaking for everyone on planet Earth. So. We do live and virtual. All of that is on the website. You can check that out. You can fill out the form and have us come in and present this to your classroom, your school, your district. So really, our mission is to teach really over a billion people how to use Afformations and over 10 million kids. So 10 million children, that's the mission. That's the goal. So we can't do it without your help. We need your help to get this book into parents' hands, into teachers' hands, and of course, into kids' hands. So because we want to teach people how to use Afformations and my Afformations Method to change your life. Go ahead.
Right. And what a better time to change the— everything's changing, right? And so why not change the younger generation to be better adapt and stronger with their self and respect for others?
That's right. That's right. And so, the point is, and we'll end with this thought here, is that the questions you ask create your life. And so, when you ask disempowering questions, which is what most people are doing, not meaning to, of course, we don't do this consciously, but we just weren't taught how to do this. I discovered Afformations when I was 30 years old, right? I was in the shower. It was what I call the shower that changed everything. Right? So, if you've read any of my other books, like The Book of Afformations published by Hay House or Power Habits published by Nightingale-Conant or The Secret Code of Success published by HarperCollins, you know, I talk about Afformations and I've been teaching this for 30 years now. And so, this being our first children's book, the point is that we really want to help children to learn how to ask empowering questions rather than disempowering questions. Because if I had learned how to do this when I was 7, Rather than when I was 30, I'd probably be a gazillionaire by now. I mean, I'm doing okay. Don't get me wrong. I'm doing fine. But boy, it would have been nice to not have 3 decades of head trash piled up before I discovered Afformations and before I learned how to ask these empowering versus disempowering questions. So, for you parents, for you teachers, that is precisely who this is for. It is for the children so they don't have to have the years and decades of head trash that most of us grew up with and have been dealing with for a long time. So imagine if we have a world where the kids don't have to go through that, where they just don't have to ask these disempowering questions, where they're not thinking they're not good enough or they don't have any talent or they're scared, they have anxiety. We can literally get rid of those. And it sounds, you know, sounds almost too good to be true. But we have had so many incredible, miraculous, life-changing, transformative stories that people have told me over the last 30 years. Literally thousands of people from around the world. So if you're thinking this won't work for you, it won't work for your child, you haven't tried it yet. Because guess what? You're already doing this. You're already using my Afformations method. You're just probably using it in the wrong way. So We teach you how to do it in the right way, in a very, very simple way that any kid and any adult can understand.
Well, also, we wanted to address that this is a great tool for parents to use at the dinner table. Yes. If you notice, if you're at a restaurant, the kids are— and the parents, the parents are the example for the kids at any age. So this is a tool that you can use at the dinner table to engage in your kids, and the kids can ask you questions, you know, ask an affirmation. that you would be using that day. And it helps the families to get closer, to reunite and see what everybody's going through.
You're right. And I forgot to mention that because when you go to iaskbetterquestions.com, I talked about the lesson plans for teachers, but we also have for the parents. We have free resources for parents. We literally, for example, I created an Afformations poster. You can Literally print out a poster and have it on the wall or put it on the refrigerator. And then every day you can, as Babette just said, you can talk to your children, actually talk at the dinner table. What a concept, right?
Even at breakfast before the day begins.
Exactly right. When the day begins and when the day ends. Right. What are some questions you asked today? What are some empowering questions you affirmed? What Afformations did you use today? I mean, these are things that can change lives that we've seen over and over and over again. This is a tool, this is a resource, and we've given you really tons of resources also on the website at iaskbetterquestions.com. So this is a resource for children, for parents, for teachers, and we've really handed it all to you. So please take advantage of it. Why? Because the mission is to help 10 million kids to ask better questions. Okay.
All right.
Well, that's That was our announcement for today. Definitely get the book, get the resources, take advantage of it. And remember to ask better questions for yourself, for your family, for your loved ones, for your classroom, because that's how we're going to change the world at a time that it desperately needs it. All right. Well, so for my beautiful wife, Babette, I'm Dr. Noah St. John. I askbetterquestions.com, and we will see you next time.
Bye.
Bye everybody.
Bye. Keep performing.
Keep performing.
