Dr. Noah St John recommends asking yourself each night: "What did I do today to move myself closer to my goals?" He suggests keeping a done list of completed tasks instead of just a to-do list, which boosts productivity and cuts overwhelm.
Hey, Dr. Noah. What's one question you should ask yourself every day to track progress?
Oh, you know what, a great question you should ask yourself every day to track progress is, what did I do today to move myself closer to my goals? You know, everybody has a to-do list, but what we really need is a done list. That means you want to check off the things that you did at the end of the day. What I like to do is have a to-do list, and then as I'm doing them, I highlight them in yellow. You know what everybody does is they cross them off. Well, I like to highlight what I did in yellow, and that way I see my list, I say, wow, look at all that stuff I got done today. And that makes your brain go, wow, I'm accomplished and I'm accomplishing. And that makes you able to move closer to your goals faster every single day and feel a lot more productive and feel less overwhelmed. So if you're feeling overwhelmed, Do this, start asking yourself that question, you're going to be amazed at the progress you're going to make.
