Nataliey Bitature says pitch your business, not your idea. An idea is something nobody paid for. Test your product with real customers first, get sales, then show investors the numbers. They want proof you can make money, not promises.

The next thing you need to do when you're looking for money is traction. Please do not pitch people ideas. So many entrepreneurs do this to me. An idea is something that could be a business but no one has paid for it. If no one has paid for your product or your service, it's just an idea, babes. You need to work on it first before you come and pitch to other people. Go first test your jam on your family and your friends before you go and ask anybody for money. Save your own money. Make a prototype. Save your own money, make a few prototypes, go to a few fairs or market days, go to a few restaurants, a few hotels, a few supermarkets, get them to buy your product, test it, give you feedback before you go ask for funding. Please don't waste people's time with concepts. Nobody cares about your ideas. Honestly, it's a wonderful idea. I'm not knocking you having an idea, but we don't have time for ideas. Ideas are not bankable. You need to have traction. You need to have sales. So you've now reeled them in from the problem and the human side of the problem, right? Now you need numbers. You need to show that you know your business, which shows you're a competent person, which means I can give you money and you won't disappear, run away, lose the money.
