Structure your pitch around three things: the problem you solve, your unique value, and exactly what you need. Then mobilize your whole network—family, friends, church members, anyone—to tell your story and open doors you can't reach alone.
Chapters
You have to take them through the most key points: the problem, the attraction, the ask. If you don't ask, you won't get. Don't tell this person, oh, I have this business, it's such a great idea, it's doing so well, anyways, have a good day, I hope you think of me in future. They're not going to think about you. They'll tell people, oh yeah, I met an interesting guy, anyway, they're not going to give you money for your business. Tell them what you need. I need this investment, I need a network, I need someone to help me on the legal side to copyright this product, I need to get into the biggest supermarket. Do you have a contact there? Sometimes it's not money. Sometimes it's you need someone to open a door that you can't open for yourself. But know what your ask is and be ready to ask for it. And this is what your network is for, so that even if you're not in the elevator with someone, your family members should all know your business. Those 7 cousins who all came and helped you at night should all be telling their colleagues, their friends, at weddings, at parties, at church. They should be telling everyone about this for you. And they should know what the product is, where the product can be found. And if you're looking for something like an investment, like a door to be open, they should also be helping you to do that.
