If your business isn't working the way you expected, it's not because you're bad at business. It's because no one ever taught you how it actually works. We were trained to master algorithms in medicine, but when it comes to revenue teams and growth, we were never taught anything. We weren't even told to figure it out. We just assumed somehow we'd know. Like it would magically make sense. But it doesn't. The era of the seven Figure Physician CEO is here. And it's not about working harder. It's about learning entrepreneurship as a system. The same way you mastered ACLs and pals, you can master the algorithm of building a profitable scalable business. That's why I recorded the seven Figure Physician CEO audiobook. Whether you're building a medical or non medical business, and whether your goal is your first million, first 2 million, first 5 million, first 10 million, this is where the journey starts. There is no calvary coming to save us. We are the calvary. So. So go get your audiobook now. Www.entremd.com 7Figurebook. And let's rewrite the narrative for physicians starting today.
Well, welcome back to the five minute tweak where I share one success habit. You can start practicing today that will change your life as a physician entrepreneur. And today we're gonna talk about avoiding distractions. Okay? Now, this has probably happened to you. It's happened to me many times. You set out to have a productive day and then it, quote, unquote, it happens. It could be a social media post that you looked at that you know, took you off track. Or then you got a call and it was a social call, but it ended up taking over your day. Or you had, you know, if you're given to shiny object syndrome, you were doing your stuff in your business, but maybe you're a part where you're needing to do the hard work and you see this other thing and you're like, wait, what if I did that business instead? Like, oh, this whole Facebook group thing is driving me nuts. What if I just did Facebook ads, I did a Facebook challenge or I started speaking or I hired a marketer and you're like, all over the place, right? Lots of shiny objects. Or maybe you're at a point where watching people succeed at what you're struggling with is just too much, right? Where, you know, you started off, you're like, I'm going to do this. I can do hard things. This is going to be great.
You know, and you saw somebody else.
And they, you know, maybe you feel like, they started at the same time with you as a, you know, as an entrepreneur. And they're like, yeah, you know, I just crossed $500,000 in my business. And you're like, totally bent out of shape. Right? These are all distractions. And the thing with distractions is they are like weeds. You have to get them or they will take your garden. Right. And you can never stop weeding. Right. So sometimes like, oh, you know, I shouldn't still have to deal with this. Distractions. One of those things you're going to constantly need to look at in your life. Okay? So you have to, you really, you, you, you literally have to take a look. You have to do an inventory. What are the distractions that get me off course in the last three months? What are the things that have stopped me from making the best use of my time? What are the things that have made me busy but not productive?
Right.
It's time to look at that. And, you know, how do you, how do you handle that? And some of the things you have to do, you know, if you think about it, is they're a little what you would consider radical, but they're not. Right? So, for instance, I think I was listening to Brandon Turner. It may have been him. He was interviewing somebody and talking about what he does with social media distraction. He literally deletes the Facebook app till the one hour or 30 minutes that he's decided he should be on social media. He, he puts the app back on his phone, does what he needs to do, and deletes it again.
Right?
You might be like, that's so extra. I don't know. He closed on a $70 million building. Maybe that's what it takes. Right? But the thing is, that's what he did so that social media doesn't end up being a time suck for him. Okay, you may decide, I don't do social media. I don't do email till 10am right. Because I don't want it to direct my day. I want to decide where I'm going. I want to start going in that direction, and then I can be the boss of social media and an email, right? You might decide, I want to identify, you know, the shiny objects that kind of distract me. Like, why are they distracting me? What am I avoiding in my own business? What do I need to make a commitment to do to doing right? What do I need to make a commitment to doing right? That may be something you need to do. If you notice that people succeeding triggers you, that's not something to go like, I Shouldn't be dealing with that. I should just overcome. I should get over it. I should just be happy for them. Listen to me, if you feel that way while you work on not feeling that way, just unfollow them. It's fine. Like, unfollow them. Recognize that every time I see this person post a win, it ruins my entire day. Okay, fine. That needs to be worked on. No doubt. We don't do comparitis and all of that stuff. But if it's your reality and it's affecting you, unfollow them. Okay? While you figure it out. So distractions do the work to identify what they are, call them what they are, and put a strategy in place to stop them from stopping you. Okay? I have come to the realization that everybody has 24 hours, including the people who own 250 companies, right? So the question is not the time. The question is what's done with the time? And one of the biggest thieves of time are all these distractions. Okay? So we're not just going to go through life like we don't know they exist. We're going to go after them. Okay, so what do I want you to do today? I want you to pick one thing you will do to reduce the distractions in your life. One thing. And I want you to take a screenshot of this. I want you to post it on social media and say, from today, this is what I'm doing. Right? I mean, you can do that or not. Okay? But pick one thing. That's the most important thing. All right? So. Well, there you have it. Now remember, you are part of the On Tremd movement, the movement that disrupts.
Health, the healthcare space.
So do not keep this to yourself. Share it, and I will see you on the next episode of the Entremdia podcast.
