Chiropractic Marketing Tips | How to Get New Patients using Youtube!

In this instructional video Dr. Vince Leone explains how chiropractors can leverage YouTube to generate new patients. He begins by highlighting three reasons why YouTube is a missed opportunity for the profession: the platform is vastly under‑utilized, it enables education‑based marketing that pre‑educates and pre‑motivates prospects, and its massive user statistics (1.3 billion users, billions of daily views, high mobile engagement) make it a powerful traffic source. Dr. Leone then walks through the practical setup of a YouTube channel – choosing channel art, creating a trailer, and using services like Fiverr for design. He outlines a low‑cost video production workflow, recommending local videographers (e.g., wedding shooters) for quick, professional footage. The core content strategy centers on condition‑specific playlists, each containing three short (3‑5 min) videos covering common causes, standard treatments, and the practice’s unique approach. He demonstrates how to upload videos, optimize titles, descriptions, tags (including local SEO terms), and custom thumbnails (Canva). Annotations or on‑screen call‑to‑actions are suggested to drive viewers to schedule consultations. Briefly, he mentions YouTube advertising, encouraging self‑learning via inexpensive Udemy courses. The video concludes with calls to subscribe, hit the notification bell, and explore his free “Micro DC MBA” practice‑building course. Throughout, Dr. Leone emphasizes taking massive action and investing time over money to build a sustainable patient pipeline through YouTube.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the big show, Dr. Vince Presents. I am your host, Dr. Vince Leone. Today's topic is how to generate new patients through YouTube. So go ahead, sit down, grab some popcorn, let's go ahead and dig right in. Okay guys, today's topic, how to generate new patients through YouTube. And for First of all, let's talk. Why would we want to do this? Well, the first reason is totally underutilized by chiropractors. I mean, if you look at you know the channels for chiropractors across YouTube, they're either they don't exist or they are not very good. So today, what we're going to do is in just a few minutes, we're going to jump over. We're going to do a little screen flow so that we can show you exactly kind of how to set this up and and how to organize everything and blah blah blah blah blah. So one, underutilized by YouTube, it has, or underutilized by chiropractors. So with all this traffic going to YouTube, it's the number 2 visited site on the planet Earth, on the internet. So with all that traffic, we gotta take advantage of that. Number 2, it is education-based marketing, right? Because we are going to create playlists for different conditions and we're gonna talk to patients about everything that we know. So we have all this information rattling around in our head, Let's get it out there, right? So we want to tell people what we know so that they can get to know, like, and trust us before they even walk in the door. Education-based marketing, it creates pre-motivated and pre-educated patients for your office. So number 3, stats. Crazy stats on YouTube. It was started in 2005. There are now 1.3 billion users on the planet. It's projected to get to 3.5 billion by 2021. 18 to 49, 8 out of 10 people in that age range prefer YouTube. And mobile users, I mean, oh, it's nuts on mobile because it's like, I think a million— no, a billion views a day on mobile. A billion views a day. And then their average watch time is 40 minutes. So it said— what that tells us, people are using the platform for— to learn things, to obviously watch shows and all that. But they will stay on it. So what that means is if we create small usable chunks of information videos for our practice, people will watch them and then we just have to get them to go to our channel. So let's go ahead. So those are the 3 reasons: underutilized by chiropractors, it's education-based marketing which creates pre-motivated and pre-educated patients for our practice, and then the stats are just astounding on YouTube. Let's go ahead, so we're going to switch over to a ScreenFlow so that we can look at and show you how I do, or how I laid it out on my channel and then on our practice channel. So let's go there right now. Okay, welcome to my lair, ladies and gentlemen. It's actually just my conference room. So look, a couple more stats on YouTube which are phenomenal. Almost 5 billion videos are watched daily on YouTube. Crazy. YouTube gets over 30 million visitors per day. In an average month, 8 out of 10 18 to 49-year-olds watch YouTube. Talk about that. Total number of hours of video watched on YouTube each month, 3.25 billion. Yikes, that's a lot. Average number of mobile YouTube videos views per day, 1 billion. Goodness gracious. So we want to tap tap into that source of traffic, right? So let's go ahead, we're going to switch over to a ScreenFlow where I'm going to walk you through the different channels or the different aspects of the channel that we need to address to get it nice looking, white, so that we can, you know, so when people come there, it's like, it's like when someone comes to your house, right? You want to pick up all the dirty laundry and clean it up and make it look nice. And that's what we want to do with your channel. Same thing with your website, by the way. But anyways, so let's go ahead and go there right now. Okay guys, so here we are on our website. This is our Back and Joint Pain Institute. That's the name of our practice. This is my father. This is our welcome video. So let's just look at the different components that you need to get set up, okay? So first is your channel art. This is, you know, this is a shot of our city. And you know, you can do anything you want. You can have a picture of your city, you can have a picture of you, you can have a picture of your practice. What I would recommend is if you want to, you know, kind of go high end, is something like what I did here. So this is, this is my channel for the consulting. So I, you know, I did not create this. I don't know how to do this in Adobe Photoshop. All I did was go to fiverr.com, F-I-V-E-R-R dot com, and said, hey, I want a YouTube channel art. And they said, okay, what do you want in it? So we designed this and 3 days later, boom, I get that. Put your picture here and then let's go into— so this is what's really important is this is your channel trailer, okay? So this is the first, kind of the first thing people see. It's usually on autoplay, and so this is like a commercial for your practice, okay? And that's kind of the first thing that you want to do is get this done. And, you know, look, the ideal thing would be to hire someone to come in, you know, basically kind of shoot all around your office, do some brief interviews with you and staff, maybe a couple testimonials. That would be ideal. You can go on, you know, Craigslist, you know, there's tons of sites, but what you're looking for is a local videographer, and the best people are the guys that do weddings. They're, you know, perpetually looking for work, and if you just tell them the scope of work, they'll be able to knock this out literally in 2 hours. They'll edit themselves, all that type of stuff, so it's kind of soup to nuts. That's what I'd recommend for this. For me, I just put a popular video that I did, Google vs. Facebook. And then you can put your links here. This is my consulting page, LinkedIn, website, all that type of stuff. So you put that there. You do the same thing, your Facebook fan page, if you want to do LinkedIn you can do that, and of course your main website. Now if we click along here, we'll look at videos. So this lists all your videos. Here's what's key though, is the playlists. Now let's go back, it's more applicable here. If we look at playlists, so we have patient testimonials for decompression neuropathy, chiropractic, frequently asked questions about chiropractic, neck pain, car accident, pains in hands and feet, headaches, fibromyalgia. And some of these videos are super old. But like, you know, they, they've generated a lot of views. Like, this is instrument adjusting, um, to, you know, 2,200 views, which, you know, is, uh, and you can see this is old, old, old. So this is since 2009, but this lives on. Like, it, you know, even though, like, I'll put in, um, you know, I put in, in the comments, hey, uh, this is the new website, this is the new office number. So you can still use Um, old videos. And, um, but the, the concept is the same. I still wanted to educate people about instrument adjusting because that's what we offer. Um, now we do hands, you know, we do manual adjusting too, but, um, that's, uh, I just, you know, a lot of people don't want the cracking noise. Um, this is a professional video that we had done for, um, uh, you know, it's, and it's a little long, frankly, it's a little long. But professional video that we had done. We have another— this one is another, you know, kind of professional one that we had done on peripheral neuropathy. Point— and this, you know, 775 views, so that's not too bad. The point being is that you want to start populating your— and again, I want to go back to playlist— you want to start populating it first First, look, make it look nice, get the channel art and all that type of stuff. Then you want to start uploading your videos and you want to create playlists. So you want to do, you know, say for instance, neck pain, headaches, carpal tunnel, car accidents, sciatica, you know, knee pain, whatever, whatever, all the conditions that you treat. And what I would recommend is in each playlist, do 3 videos, okay? Just Keep it real basic, 3 videos. So we're gonna do the— well, I would recommend, you know, common causes of blank, right, of X condition, common treatments of X condition, and then this is our treatment of this particular condition. So that— what that's gonna do, and I would recommend each being about 3 to 5 minutes. So what that does is it gives patients first a kind of global look at the condition. In other words, you know, Why am I getting this, right? And then these are the treatments that you've probably already tried, and then this is what we do and why it's so effective. So you kind of lead them down a path and allows them to get to know you in the process, educate them. So again, we're creating pre-educated and pre-motivated patients. Then look, so that's— so what you're going to do then is, uh, and then there is a way, you know, when you upload videos You want to— let's see, I'm going to pause this just for one second so I can upload a video because I want to show you how to tag it properly. Okay, so I'm back and we have— so I'm uploading a video. I'm going to cancel because it's already actually uploaded. But you put in your title right here and you put in your description. Make sure your website's in that section as well. Then you put in your tags. So this would be Your town, like you have to play with this a little bit, but so it'd be like Tacoma neck, like we're in Tacoma, so Tacoma neck pain, Tacoma chiropractic, Tacoma chiropractor, Tacoma back pain, back pain, neck pain, sciatica. You know, you just, you start adding these, these tags and what this allows is when people are searching, it allows it to come up organically. Then you're gonna make it public. It's already set public. Add it to a playlist. And then you can also create a custom thumbnail. If you want to do that, you can do that in a program called Canva, canva.com, or you can just have YouTube pick randomly several different possible images, still images from the video. Now, if you want to do advanced settings— no, this is not what I wanted. There's a section where you can do annotations. So it's not letting me do it because the video is not uploaded yet, but here's what you want to do is once the video is uploaded, it's going to allow you to create annotations. And again, if you don't know what I'm talking about, just YouTube it or Google it. But what that does, it basically is a little graphic that comes up on the video that allows someone to click on it and they'll go to your website to sign up for a consultation, right? So we want to provide a call to action, and you can either do that within the video, you know, like if you're going to use iMovie or, you know, Final Cut Pro or one of these to edit the movie, you can put that right in there with a title card, or you can use annotations. Probably would be easier to use annotations, but regardless, you do want to put a call to action in there so that once they watch the video, They will have a number to call and get ahold of you and set up an appointment. So, we're not going to go into advertising at this point in this video because it's starting to already get a little long, but that is also an option. It works just like Google pay-per-click. If you want to learn how to do YouTube advertising, it's not that difficult at all. It's literally— don't pay someone to do it, just learn it yourself. It's very simple. But go to Udemy, udemy.com. Udemy. Buy a course on YouTube advertising for $10 and learn it yourself. It's— guys, it's not that difficult. But— and just start playing with it and then you can start advertising through YouTube as well. Okay. So, that is it for the ScreenFlow. Okay. We're back in front of camera. And guys, so that's it. That is how you set up your YouTube channel and get those videos created. Put them in the playlist, drive your patients to them, do advertising if you want to, but trust me, this is going to be a phenomenal resource for you. If you have a little more time than money, start investing it and learning this platform, how to use it properly. You will start to generate patients out of the blue. They will just say, well, I saw you on the web. Again, you know, Google owns YouTube, so they love to put videos into the search when people are searching for, hey, how do I treat this nasty neck pain? So hey, hope this was helpful for you. Again, subscribe if you haven't. If these videos are helpful for you, please subscribe. Just click on the red button, and then if you hit that little bell, then it will notify you when a new video comes up. Also, go ahead and check out the new training, leoneconsulting.co, and And that is my Micro DC MBA. It's a free practice building course. I'm Dr. Vince Leone. I hope this was super helpful for you.
