In this segment, Dr. Vince Leone and a speaker discuss the "retire in practice" model for physicians. The model involves a senior doctor hiring an associate who, over a period of five to ten years, gradually purchases the practice. By the time the senior doctor reaches retirement age, the associate becomes the practice owner and can re‑hire the senior doctor as an associate on a part‑time basis, allowing the retiree to continue practicing a few days a week and retain income during retirement.

I had a doctor years ago that talked to me about, shared a concept called retire in practice. So, you hire an associate and then over a period of 5 or 10 years or whatever, they gradually buy your practice out.
Yeah.
And by the time you get to retirement age, they become the owner and then they can hire you back on as their associate doctor And then you can practice in your retirement years, maybe at a part-time level. Yeah. So that you still have some income in retirement, but you're maybe only practicing 2 or 3 days a week.
Yeah, a couple of days a week, you know, have, you know, get all like cover all your expenses. You know, you can, you know, have the little toys and stuff based on your nest egg. So, yeah, that's a really, really interesting concept there.
