Dr. Vince Leone keeps accepting insurance because patients want to use their benefits for exams and x-rays. Some plans like Washington State's Premier network and Amazon's coverage pay well, but the real draw is that insurance covers the services people expect.
So now, why do we keep the insurance? Because I get this question a lot, Doc, is like, hey, do you recommend your clients go all cash? And the answer is no, I really don't, because there are still some good insurances like here in Washington State, like Premier. Premier is great. Amazon, like Microsoft, they all have Premier and they still pay really well. But that's not even what I care about, right? I don't care about they're paying $40 instead of $20 for an adjustment. What I care about Is they were going to cover exams and x-rays. Because patients want to use— like, I mean, I don't want to tell you what I pay for insurance as a private business owner, small business owner. It's a lot, right? So people want to use their insurance, right, if they can. And so in our model, they can.
