A practice small enough that requires almost no time | Eckhart Tolle

Eckhart Tolle explains how to manifest what you want by holding it as already real in your mind, then acting on it. He teaches a micro-practice: write a shopping list, pause three to four seconds in stillness, listen for what else comes, then repeat. The mind becomes creative only when you step back into no-thought and return to thinking.

He said, when you pray for something, believe that you already have it and it will be yours. It's a very simple statement: believe that you already have it. Because the universe loves creating, you might have noticed if you look around you and you You look, go diving in the ocean and see how many countless, unbelievable life forms that exist even underwater and on land, and thousands, hundreds of thousands of life forms that the universe delights in creating, and it also wants to create through you. It's a totally different way of creating. Yeah. So use of the mind can only be done effectively if you step back and forth from this, the surface I to the deep I, and then thinking becomes fruitful. And when you visualize something that you want to create, you visualize it as already existing. Although it doesn't exist on the external plane, it already exists on the mental plane. For something to exist on the external, it needs to be on the mental. It's the blueprint, that's the mental. In a way, that's kind of what Plato talks about when he talks about the ideas, the underlying— these are underlying something prior to physical manifestation. So, When you have an idea in your mind, then— and it could be that idea came to you because you were stepping back and forth, so a creative idea came to you from the depths of your being, from the deep I— and then you can use the same practice to bring that into existence. Plus action, of course. Action is necessary. Empowered action plus empowered vision. And the empowered vision is— there's virtually no difference as far as your feeling is concerned Between that thing already existing in the external world and that thing, whatever it may be, existing only in the inner dimension of your mind. It already feels— it's already there, and you can sense it, you can feel it, you know what it's doing, there it is. And this is exactly what Jesus said. When you— he said, when you pray for something, believe that you already have it, and it will be yours. It's a very simple statement: believe that you already have it. So when you pray, you don't pray for, please give me that. It's not an effective prayer that's done. Christians ask God to give them something. That's not— because that is a statement of lack. True creativity comes out of the sense, the realization of Being, which is fullness, primordial fullness, undifferentiated Being. Fullness and emptiness are the same term. Emptiness just means formlessness. So believe that you already have it and it will be yours. That's— and that is what is called faith. Faith is to already experiencing the reality of it on the mental plane, and then this is the use of the mind in a deeply empowered way. Your mind becomes an extension of universal consciousness, and that's wonderful. But the decisive factor is your ability to step back into no thought, then forth into thought, and so on. It requires some practice. Start with simple things. The most simplest thing, for example, would be to write a shopping list. What are the groceries that I need to get? And even there you can already practice. You write down whatever comes to mind and then you doubt on what else do I need. And then to find what else do I need as far as groceries are concerned, you become still for three or four seconds. Maybe you're doing it already. And then suddenly you know what else you need. And then you and then you think what that. Be still again. So there's always a listening to see what's there, and it's a wonderful practice.
