Eckhart Tolle Special Live Teaching | Conscious Manifestation

Eckhart Tolle teaches how present moment awareness and individual consciousness shape what you manifest in your life and the world. He explores the link between inner peace and outer change, arguing that personal awakening directly affects collective reality.
Welcome all of you on YouTube, Facebook Live for the first time. We've had a few technical difficulties, so I'm a little bit late. That was a great opportunity, of course, for you to be present in the moment. And let's continue that before we start and perhaps look at few questions concerning conscious manifestation. Let's just take a moment, become aware of the present moment. Vitally important in any endeavor that you undertake, no matter what it is, is not to lose your connectedness with the present moment. So before you start a new enterprise, a new activity, always go to take a moment for awareness. Basically, that's what it is. Sometimes people ask, well, what is the present moment? How do you be, where is it? What does it even mean to become aware of the present moment? And the first thing of course, is that you become aware of whatever surrounds you. That's the entry point into the present moment. A very easy entry point into present moment awareness, some people may call it mindfulness, is to become more aware of whatever surrounds you here and now. Sense perceptions just be with what is, give it attention, some attention. The room you're sitting in, maybe there's a window, you can look out of the window, you can see trees behind me, I can't see them, I know they are there. This is. You enter the present moment by becoming more aware of sense perceptions, auditory, visual, and perhaps others. And of course, what that does, you might notice, is there is less mental noise. The voice in the head that speaks and speaks, that talks to you, that you have a dialogue with, a monologue that comments and interprets and takes positions, mental positions, identifies with likes, dislikes, never stops talking. That's the mind, the voice in the head that most people are completely identified with. And that means they are not present. So the first step is take some attention away from that by simply becoming aware of sense perceptions. And if you can look at something natural, that's even better. Because a natural thing, a tree, a flower, a plant, the sky, a natural thing lends itself to present moment awareness more than a man made human made thing. So anything natural that you can look at for a moment, focus on and give it attention, acknowledge it, you don't need to think about it. So it's just become aware of the present moment through sensory perception. And already if you can do that, if perhaps a few minutes before you were very much immersed in the problem making mind, it wasn't actually solving any problem, because this continuous mind activity actually creates more problem than it solves. If it's not focused, it's unconscious. So Already suddenly, there's a certain amount of peace that descends upon this, the world, your world. It becomes a bit more peaceful. You become aware of the aliveness of things. And then the next step for present moment awareness is you become aware of yourself. Now that's very important too, because that's the foundation for the entire world. Whatever the world that you experience, you experience it through yourself. So, and whatever you manifest in this world, you manifest through yourself. Now, what does it mean to become aware of yourself? Now you might be tempted to think that you start thinking about your life, you and your life. And of course that's very problematic. Your past, your future. Or you can think about things that you identify with, the huge problems the world is facing. But that's not becoming aware of yourself. Becoming aware of yourself is something more vital, something deeper than being aware of your historical self. All your memories, all your expectations for the future, none of that is really becoming aware of yourself, because those are thoughts. You become aware of the simple fact that you are here as a conscious presence that's very much inextricably linked with what we call the present moment. Now, this may seem strange at first, you becoming aware of yourself as a conscious presence. No need to remember who you are beyond the fact that you are becoming aware of the I am ness of yourself. For those of you who haven't never heard of this, it might seem a little strange. Become aware that even if you do not remember your past at all, your who you are as a historical person, what is left of you if you do not remember who you are as a historical person, if you don't think about yourself, what's left is a certain inner spaciousness opens up that replaces the usual activity of continuous mental noise thinking. A spacious awareness opens up, and you cannot say much about it. You can't analyze it. You simply be aware that you are. That there is a presence that is inseparable from who you are. There's also a stillness there that's part of that presence. But it's not an asleep stillness. It's not the stillness that you find when getting tired. It's an alert stillness. And that is the core of what we call present moment awareness. So you're not really aware of the present moment, because the awareness is the present moment beyond sense perceptions. That was a starting point. And then you go deeper and you simply become aware of yourself as consciousness, a still alert presence. There's a lot more one could say about it, but this is just our starting point for today. The important thing is, once you have had even a glimpse of it as much as possible, reconnect with that as you go about your daily life, as you are engaged in activities, as you speak to people, interact with people, as you interact with people on media, social media, etc. As much as possible, reconnect and have find these moments of alert stillness, alert still presence. And that becomes then the foundation for everything you do. And that's that. Another word for that is spiritual awakening. You're now, you're spiritually awakened begins with little, just a glimpse of awareness of yourself. The awareness that there's something deeper in you than the person with its history. That awareness is a direct realization. It is not something that is conceptual, that frees you from what we call the ego, which is all the conditioning of your mental emotional field, all the things you identify with. And then you derive your sense of who you are from a deeper place within. And that's an enormous liberation. And then you can operate in this world in a much more effective way. And you can operate in this world in a way that is much more beneficial for yourself and humanity. You can then from that foundation we can talk about manifestation. If you manifest from that foundation rather than manifest from the usual sense of identity that is exclusively derived from, from the ego, which is the thinking mind, the narrative that most people identify with as me, that's me. And the narrative of me is partly personal and partly collective. These are energy streams that, that what we call thought energy formations that are invisible. And these energy formations are like, could be compared to ripples on the surface of being. That's the thought activity. And humans who have no awareness of this deeper dimension, they are trapped on the level of the surface level of the movement of energy forms that we call thoughts and emotions. So that's your mind is. And whatever happens in your mind is conditioned by your surroundings and by your past, so called past. So humans are literally possessed in the absence of awareness. They are literally possessed by the thought forms that go through their mind. And so they can. They are partly, as I said, partly personal, partly collective. And sometimes they are relatively harmless. And at other times it can be like a viral infection on a mental level. And you don't even know what's happening to you. When violent mass movements happen. Human unconsciousness expressing itself collectively through violence. That means humans are at the mercy, completely possessed by, by these energy formations that have taken possession of them and they don't even know it. Sometimes you know it in a past. Some you perhaps all know, perhaps even from your own experience, or sometimes one Thought can take possession of your mind and it refuses to go away. And it proliferates, it creates other related thoughts in your mind. And you suddenly become obsessive with something. And some people live like that. They have. They are possessed by one particular mind form. And they interpret the entire world through the screen of that mind form and everything. Suddenly they have an explanation for everything. Because everything is interpreted through that screen. Sometimes it's a mental illness. It gets close to mental il when you have felt paranoid and so on. And everybody suddenly becomes your enemy. So you free yourself from that. Ultimately, without awareness, thinking can. Even good things in your mind can very quickly turn. Become amplified and turn it into something very unconscious and destructive. So always returning to that deeper dimension. Let's start with the first question. Let's see. When it comes to conscious manifestation, my interest at this point is not in manifesting anything for myself personally, but in wanting to help manifest a world that is more peaceful and just for everyone. Can how you teach conscious manifestation help with that? Good question. Relevant. Manifesting a world that is more just. I think that was the word, more peaceful and just for everyone. Well, that would be a good aim. Now, ultimately, of course, what you experience as the world is intrinsically one with your consciousness. The only place where you experience the world is in your consciousness. Philosophers have even questioned whether there actually is a world out there independent of conscious perception. We don't need to go there. But there's no doubt that the entire world happens inside you. One could say you don't know what you see. What the eyes transmit, the senses transmit becomes nerve impulses that are sent to the brain. And that's just on the physical level. And then these nerve impulses are decoded. And then some kind of world appears within you. But what is. To what extent that corresponds to a world out there, we don't even know. So to change the world to you, so you look at the world to some in some way. You could almost say, go as far as to say what you're actually looking at is a reflection in the external, in the world of form, of your state of consciousness. Could say it's an interesting way to look at it. And the state of consciousness is partly your. There is your personal world and there is a collective world. So the two, they are connected, but they're not the same. Because first of all, there is what you experience as a world in your personal life or the people you habitually interact with, where you live, your surroundings. It starts with simple things, like even the objects that surround you. Habitually where you live. So the. Your world is your relationships with humans that you live with, your relationships with other humans that you meet every day casually, where you work, the people you work with. So all these things, your personal life, so called life, is one sphere that you move in. And the important thing is not to neglect that in search of a better collective world, the two are related. But to come to disregard this, it's a mistake that is often made to disregard your personal sphere with the world that is immediately accessible to you as you and your life, the people in your life where you live, all that your work, to neglect that. It's very seductive to think there's so much wrong with the world out there, the collective, that's really what I should be concerned with. Because there's so much wrong out there. You can see it. You just have to turn on the. You turn on some kind of device with that television or that brings you the news and the commentaries, continuous stream. And then of course, that is already. That is the collective world that then enters your living room or wherever you are. And then they get mixed up, they can obliterate the collective, can obliterate your personal life. And you think your personal life is quite irrelevant now, because what really matters, the world needs to change. It's so dreadful. Well, yes, the world needs to change and the world is changing because humanity is a work in progress. Humanity is slowly evolving. Fits and starts and regression, regressive periods. It takes a few steps forward and then a few steps, four steps forward, three steps back, then a few more forward. There's a gradual evolution of humanity. And to focus only on what is going wrong with, within that process, that evolutionary process, is also very misleading because that's what you see when you watch the media and so on. It focuses not on what's going right or what has gone right. It focuses on what's going wrong. Then you give that more and more attention. By giving attention to something, you amplify it. So whatever you give it. Now, I'm not saying to completely ignore the world, no. But to give it an excessive amount of attention and only continuously think about what's wrong with the world. Then you forget what's right with the world and that then diminishes. So we have the external world coming into your living room, for example, through the media. And it can be, as I said, you can sometimes believe that your personal world, your immediate sphere of influence is, is relevant, is irrelevant. But that's not the case. So the, the starting point with changing the world is to Become aware of how you operate in this world. The starting point is how do you relate to the humans in your life? How do you. What is the. Your mind? What is your mind doing? What is your predominant state of consciousness? What are your predominant emotions? What are your. The predominant thoughts that go through your mind? It's vitally important to become aware of that. If you're not aware of what the predominant emotions are that the predominant thoughts are, plus accompanying emotions that go through your mind, you are unaware. And the emotions that. The thoughts and emotions that arise continuously within you are a form of conditioning, and so they take possession of you. So it's vitally important as the starting point for changing the world is to become aware of your world. How do you operate in this world? How are your relationships? Is there a lot of antagonism? Is there grievances and a lot of conflict? Are there many people that you hate? Are there more people that you like or love? Is there love, compassion, or not so much? How do you relate to people? How do you relate to strangers that you meet in a shop, in a store? How do you relate to somebody you meet in an elevator? All these things are part of what you manifest as your world. So it's. How do you manage. What is the predominant energy that you manifest in your life that affects other humans? This is a very important starting point that of course is expressed in the famous saying, be the change that you want to see in this world. Nobody knows who actually said that. Some people say Gandhi said it. We could have said it, but he probably said something similar. I don't think he said that literally, but it doesn't matter. It's a very important pointer, a very important thought. Be the change that you want to see in the world. So change starts with you, and that means your consciousness, your state of consciousness. What is become aware of your mind. What is. How much complaining do you do? Useless complaining. Not a sort of complaining that can actually bring about change, but useless complaining about other people and groups of people and pronouncing half of humanity to be evil, whatever it is. Be aware of your mind. Vitally important. What kinds of thoughts are there? And once you the ability to become aware of your mind, what kinds of thoughts your mind is producing, once that grows, that means there's more awareness in you, there's more presence in you. Another dimension of consciousness has arisen. So be conscious. How do you. What do you bring into this world on a daily basis? Do you bring more loving kindness, compassion with other humans? Empathy, a friendly, a kind word? Even to strangers. Do you acknowledge every other human being that you meet? Even if you meet them only casually, do you acknowledge the being of that human beyond the entire beyond what role this human play place within that brief interaction? Somebody sells you something. You're asking somebody for information, whatever it may be. So do you acknowledge the beingness of the other, if only for a few seconds, giving it attention? See, there is beyond the personality, there's something deeper. Do you briefly, can you sense the being? Ultimately, it means the sacredness of every human, no matter what their personality displays. Next question is observe. Are you at the mercy of how other people behave around you? Do you react? Or are you at the mercy also of situations or circumstances? Now, what do I mean when I say at the mercy of. It means that somebody is angry at you. Somebody is. The world is full of people who are very angry and frustrated. They may. Perhaps they are justified in being angry because life is difficult. So one can always justify anger and frustration and grievances. Of course, on a conventional level, often these things are justified. But what now? What do you. You meet somebody who's angry, says something angry at you. Driving, for example. Somebody shouts at you. What. How do you. Are you aware enough not to be drawn into the same energy that the other person manifests? Are you able to simply stay clear and present? Not easy. So how do you. But you can only change the world is by not react, reacting in the same way in which the world impinges upon you or treats you through humans. So you have to be more aware than that. And so that's your. The world changes when your state of consciousness is no longer determined by other people's state of consciousness that you may meet. Or that really is a big change already. If your state of your mental emotional state is no longer determined by somebody else's mental emotional state.
