Eckhart Tolle teaches how to notice the gaps between your thoughts by sitting quietly, observing nature, or walking without mental narration. This stillness creates a deeper awareness that makes your thinking more creative and lets actions arise from spacious consciousness instead of habit.
Chapters
Become familiar with this not thinking. Could just be a gap in between two thoughts or gap while you do something, perform an action and you're not, you're just present with it, you're not thinking. You're able to sit quietly in a room for a minute or two. You're able to go out into nature and contemplate the trees and so on without interpretation. You're just present. You're able to walk from A to B and be present with every step. You're in your car driving, and with each red traffic light, you're just there. There's a stillness in the background that will empower your thinking when you do need it, because your thinking can become more creative and more empowered if you are connected to the deeper realm of being. Then being can act, speak through you. The consciousness, the unconditioned consciousness, can act, speak through you.
