In this brief excerpt, Eckhart Tolle emphasizes that humanity is not a finished creation but an ongoing work in progress. He challenges the common belief that evolution has reached its endpoint, asserting instead that we are at the early stages of a vast, universal movement of consciousness. The universe itself is awakening, and each human being is a temporary expression of this larger awakening process.
Humans are a work in progress. In other words, they have not been fully formed yet. We tend to believe that humans were created— well, that's the biblical— some time ago, we got all the— we tend— evolutionary process has created humans, but many people believe this is now, we have arrived now, evolution has come to an end. It hasn't. It's really only the beginning, the early stages of something vast, a vast universal movement of consciousness. The entire universe is awakening, and you are an expression, temporarily, a temporary expression in this particular form of the awakening universe.
