Eckhart Tolle describes his ordinary daily life and explains why he chose not to live in an ashram. He prefers the simplicity of a normal everyday existence over a monastic setting.
I don't live in an ashram where some spiritual teachers live in ashrams where they're surrounded by. By people who go. And that can be, of course, comforting for a while to the ego, if you still have an ego. Hopefully not the spiritual teacher, but it's not good. It's. I prefer to be in every normal everyday life and go to the supermarket. And so it's. So it's not interesting.
