Eckhart Tolle explains the Dalai Lama's statement "My religion is kindness" as the natural result of connecting with universal consciousness. Real change in the world doesn't come from forcing yourself to act differently, but from an inner shift that makes compassion flow naturally.

When the Dalai Lama says, "My religion is kindness," he speaks of that quality that emanates from you when you live in connectedness with the the being, with the deep, the deep I, the timeless being, the consciousness. Then what emanates from you is what the Dalai Lama called kindness. What some traditions call love, and that is you then become an agent of the transformation of the world. You know the famous expression, be the change that you want to see in the world. It needs to start with you. It doesn't start even with you behaving differently. It starts with you accessing a different state of consciousness, then you behave differently. And so you become the change. And that's how the transformation of the world also begins.
