Eckhart Tolle argues that physical comfort weakens your body because it lacks challenge. When you push through difficult exercise like weight-lifting or running, your body floods with energy you'd never find lounging around, making movement enjoyable and strengthening you. The same principle applies to life's problems: confronting them awakens consciousness and deepens awareness.
