Eckhart Tolle argues that humanity's biggest problems stem from an inability to sit quietly. When people disconnect from their "being" dimension, their minds stay noisy even in silence, making them troublemakers. Whole societies disconnected this way generate large-scale suffering.
Chapters
All the troubles of humanity are due to the human inability to sit quietly in a room. Now, at first, for people who don't understand the deeper dimension, they say, well, that can't be right. If you look more deeply, what is this inability to sit quietly in a room? It is disconnection from the being dimension. Therefore, you cannot sit quietly in a room because even if you sit there, your mind will be noisy. And so how does this relate to all the troubles of humanity? Well, because when you are disconnected from that dimension, you are a huge troublemaker. And if a whole collective, a whole country, political system, whatever it may be, disconnected from that dimension, they create havoc.
