STOP Absorbing Other Peoples Energy (Guide for Empaths)

A first-person YouTube guide for empaths by Elay Amitay Halevi explaining why highly empathetic people unconsciously tune to others' energies (often originating in childhood) and offering daily practices to reclaim and protect one’s own energy. Key recommendations: a daily reintegration visualization to "call your energy back," cutting energetic cords with people occupying mental space, grounding by balancing the root/sacral/solar plexus chakras, and using the affirmation "my energy is the best place for me to be" when around others. The speaker reports large improvements (e.g., stronger sense of self, healthier relationships) after consistent practice.

This video is for my empaths. As a very empathetic person, you may find it difficult to set boundaries. You may lose yourself in your relationships. You might find it really hard to maintain a sense of self, a sense of purpose. It could be very difficult for you to know who you are, what you want. And you may also find that you're taking on other people's energies, ideas, emotions, as if they're your own. So there is a lot of good to being an empath from a spiritual perspective. People say that your soul chooses to come down and live as an empath because you get to experience things so much more deeply. You get to have a deeper level of connection with people. You have a deep level of understanding for people. You could be a healer. And although you may feel the negative really deeply, you may also feel the positive very deeply. So there's definitely good sides to being an empathetic person. But it can be tricky when you start to really lose yourself. And what's happening is, as an empathetic person, it's not actually that other people are putting their energy on you. So it's not that you need to protect your energy from being taken by other people. That's not what it is. So other people aren't coming into your energy field and just saying, I'm going to take that away from you. It's actually something that you're doing. It's a subconscious pattern that you have of tuning outward to other people's energies. So maybe as a child, some things might have happened and your child brain decided that it would be better for you in order to be safe, in order to be loved, in order to get acceptance, it would be safer, better for you to tune to the energies of the people around you. And. And that's how you learn to get acceptance, love, validation, whatever it is as a child. And so that's how you become an empath. You carry that with you throughout your life. And the thing is, it becomes such an unconscious pattern. We carry it into our adult lives and we don't know why. We can't get into a relationship without morphing into the person that we're with and losing ourselves. Or we can't set boundaries without feeling intense guilt. And that's why it's because of this unconscious pattern that you have where you believe on some level that in order to be safe, you have to tune to the energies of the people around you. Now, there's certain things I'm going to share with you that you can do to break this pattern. But when you start doing these things, you will really start to notice a huge shift. So the biggest difference that I found even after two weeks of doing this stuff, is I. I got my sense of self back. I don't know. I wouldn't even say back. I don't think I ever even had it before. On this level, you'll have a sense of self like you've never had before. You'll be able to set boundaries like you've never been able to before. And when you get to this point, you'll start to notice how much we take on other people's energy. So when you start to notice what, what's your energy versus the energy of other people, you realize how much you constantly take on that isn't yours when you become aware of it. And it's so key because if you're an empathetic person, you could be carrying entire belief systems that don't belong to you. And that is the curse of being such a highly empathetic person. So that's why this is so, so, so important. You can only ever be so powerful if you're tuning to everyone around you. And you don't have a strong frame and a strong sense of self that you're operating from. So as an empath, the practice that you must do every day, you have to spend at least a few minutes alone and consciously call your energy and your power back from everyone that you've interacted with that day and everyone who's taking up mental space in your life. It's so important that you do this because like I said, you're tuning your energy to everyone around you constantly. You're putting your energy outwards unconsciously without realizing it. So the trick is to call that energy back into your body and visualize like a stream of energy coming back in through your hands, through your legs, and up your spine, and into your body. And if you do that every single day, that alone is so powerful because you really start to reintegrate into your body and you'll start to notice what it feels like. So to actually just be in your own energy for once, because you're so used to not being there. When you're reintegrating into your body and into your own energy, it's very good to just sit and notice what your body feels like, really pay attention to your breathing, notice how you're separate from the walls in your room, from your. Separate from everyone around you, and just really feel what it's like to be in your body, what you want to focus on. Is reminding yourself that it's safe for you to feel inside your body, because really, you could have a deep, subconscious belief that in order to be safe, you have to. You have to know what's going on in everyone else's energies, and that's why you have this pattern in the first place. So really taking time to call that energy back and remind yourself you're safe in your own frame, you're safe in your own body is so, so powerful. Another thing you can do is cut the energetic cord between you and people that are taking up mental space in your life. So you can picture the people that you've been giving your power away to, and you can just imagine cutting the cord with them and letting them float off. If you do this every day for a couple of weeks, you will see a massive shift. You'll become more magnetic, you'll become more powerful, you'll have a strong sense of self, you'll be more confident. It is incredible, the shift that can happen when you just simply reintegrate back into your own energy. Okay, so it's one thing to be able to do that by yourself, but what about when you get around other people? So this is something that I had to face. I started feeling really good, really powerful. But if I spent extended amounts of time with other people, that's when it started to slip a little bit and the old pattern started to come back in. And the last thing you want to do is isolate yourself. A lot of empaths isolate themselves because they need to protect their energy. But we are social creatures, and you don't want to be limiting yourself in your life just because you have this pattern. You need to figure out how to protect your energy while you're with other people. So there's a couple of things that I've been integrating that have really, really worked. The first thing is to balance your bottom three chakras. If you don't know anything about chakras, you can look up different meditations and things, but your root, your sacral, and your solar plexus, if you can get those more into balance, when you go out into the world, you'll be so much more grounded in yourself. So your root is your safety, your sacral is your relationships, your boundaries, and your solar plexus in particular is your sense of self. So if you look up how to kind of get those three back into balance, that will help you a lot. Because if those are strong, the energies coming from those three chakras will. Will balance you, and it will kind of. It'll almost protect you from the inside out. It'll project the energy outwards. That keeps you grounded, that keeps you secure, and keeps you strong in your sense of self. Another thing you can do when you're around people and you feel like you might be starting to people please or look for validation is you can bring this little affirmation with you. It's so good. I don't even normally like affirmations, but this one is really powerful. So what you want to do is you want to remind yourself, my energy is the best place for me to be. And that will snap you out of this kind of looking outward for acceptance, looking outward for validation, and bring you back into your body. Because as you're doing these practices and as you bring awareness to this, you'll realize that that is the truth. Your power is in your own energy. You can only ever be so powerful if you're constantly looking outward for validation, outward for acceptance. It's never going to fulfill you as much as your own energy will. And you'll know that and you, you'll learn that over time. But having that little affirmation, my energy is the best place for me to be. No matter who you're around, you could be with the coolest person in the world. Their energy is not a better place for you to be placing your attention. Your energy is the best place for you to be placing your attention. And just remind yourself of that every single time you feel that tendency to tune outwards to other people. Because the thing is, you're undoing this kind of pattern that you have from childhood. You're undoing this wiring that you have. So it's going to take a little bit of work, it's going to take a little bit of reminding, and it's just going to take practice for you to really register and feel okay. It is better for me to be tuned into myself. It is better for me to be integrated into my body. I am safe here and I don't need to be worrying and tuning into everyone else's energies just to feel accepted, loved, validated, safe. So the key is to practice feeling safe in your own energy and outside of meditation. You can do that in your daily life. How you're looking after yourself. Do you trust yourself with yourself? These little things all feed into this as well. This was like the missing link in my life for so long. And it's something that is so doable and so simple and I see so many people struggle with this and I've struggled with this as well. And it especially comes up in relationships. I had relationship after relationship where I just kept losing myself. I kept merging into the person that I was in a relationship with, and I just thought it was going to be like that forever. But after my last relationship that is completely healed, I no longer feel the need to be validated by other people. I no longer feel the need to merge with my partner. I'm in a very healthy relationship now. And it's just so important to be in tune with yourself, because how can you ever know what you want in life if you don't know yourself, if all you know is other people's energies? That's all for this video. I hope this helped. If you have any questions, leave them below. Please remember your true power and everything you need is already inside you.
