Stop Trying to Get Motivated... Get Aligned Instead

A spoken monologue urging listeners to stop chasing motivation and instead focus on alignment and self-knowledge. The speaker argues that forcing motivation and adding self-help tasks often backfires because unprocessed emotions and constant digital stimulation prevent authentic expression; practical remedies offered include quiet/idle time, journaling, nature, and removing self-imposed rules so one can ‘just be.’

Maybe you just need to stop waiting to feel motivated. Stop waiting for the right mindset, stop waiting for the perfect condition. Stop waiting to feel like you don't doubt yourself anymore. You don't need to be motivated. You don't need to be confident. You don't need to feel inner peace. You don't need to really do any of those things to start actually just showing up in your life how you want to show up in your life. And you especially don't need motivation, actually, when you're trying so hard to feel these things and you're trying so hard to feel motivated, you're pushing those feelings away because of how hard you're trying. You're trying too hard. You need to stop trying. And that's the key. The minute you let it go, it's just going to naturally come. And this has come up in so many different ways in my life. Like when I'm trying to make content and I'm trying to force it and push it, it doesn't work. I have to take time off. I have to be present in my life. I have to enjoy things in my life, and that way I have so much more to give. But when you're constantly trying to do and be a certain way and you're just forcing and not flowing, it's not going to work. You have to respect the season of life that you're in right now, respect the season that you're in, and take every day as it comes. Make the best out of every day. That's literally all there is to it when you boil it down. And yes, you can set a goal. So people think of motivation and they think, right, I'm gonna set a goal to make $10,000 a month. Right. And they think that the goal of $10,000 a month is going to motivate them if they just keep reminding themselves, okay, I'm going to make $10,000 a month. I'm going to make $10,000aMonth. That's going to keep me motivated and that's going to get me to get up every morning at 5am and to do all this work every day and work for 12 hours a day. And yeah, yeah. What you will find is you're going to be feeling motivated sometimes and you're going to get some work done sometimes. But when you actually start working, then the pain of doing the work is going to be pretty grim. And then immediately after, you're not going to get a reward because it's going to take a long time or a while at least. To build up your skills, your knowledge and everything like that so that you can hit that goal. And so because your brain has just registered that you've done something that causes pain internally and you didn't immediately get the outcome that you're attaching pleasure to, if you going to tell you to not do that thing anymore, it's going to be like, don't do that, don't do that, that's stupid, don't do that, that's painful. And we're not going to get a reward. So don't do it. Because you haven't experienced the reward yet. Because your thinking and your thing that's motivating you is so far away, it's not closely linked, your brain can't register it. And so you're trying to get motivated using this far away thing. Maybe it's close, maybe it's far away, but it's not immediate. What is immediate? What is something that's immediate that can motivate you, that can inspire you? Just being the person that you want to be. So this is why I'm saying stop trying. Stop trying. You want the actual goal and the actual thing that does motivate you to, to be just being who you want to be, just showing up how you want to show up every single day, and that's it. And when you do that, there is no trying. You're just being. Most people overwhelm themselves with things they need to do and they come into self help and they add all this stuff onto their plate. And even my videos, and this is why I want to make this video. Don't use self help, self development things as a crutch, right? What you should do before even trying to better yourself or improve yourself or expand or grow or add more shit on your plate is take shit off your plate. Take shit off your plate. If you are full of anxiety and stress and all these unprocessed emotions that you haven't processed throughout your whole life, maybe the first step could be that you take some quiet time. Maybe the first step could be that you get to know yourself. You can't run before you walk and you can't walk before you crawl. And so people try to manifest, they try to visualize, they try to bring about huge, massive goals. But they're still, they still have these massive internal lack where they feel like they are just splintered internally and they don't understand themselves. And that's the problem. So you're trying to get these goals, you're trying to get these big things. You're trying to achieve these things. You don't even know why you want these things. You don't even know why you want to feel motivated. You don't know who you are. You don't know what your patterns are. You don't know what your emotions are. You don't know what, why you do what you do. You don't know what you've suppressed because you don't spend, spend any time in idle activity or silence at all. We don't in this modern world. We just don't. We are constantly plugged in. We have no idea who we are. We know more about influencers than we know about ourselves. And it's really sad, you know, back in the day when stuff would happen like in the little community 10,000 years ago and we would have beef with someone in the community. It would be like once in a blue moon. It wouldn't be like we're arguing strangers on the Internet all the time. Like we can nowadays. You would barely have anything that's like going to cause you, you know, social disruption like you would now on social media. You can literally log on 247 and have things trigger your emotions 24 7. Whereas back in the day there wasn't half as much happening, right? And even when something did happen, we had so much space and time to think. And that's like how our brains are engineered. We need that time and space to think. And back in the day we had that. So we had this amazing thing called an ability to process and regulate our emotions because we just had space, time and quiet. We weren't constantly putting information in like we do now. And I know it sounds overly simplistic, but people are trying to run before they can walk. And they're trying and they're trying and they're trying to get motivated. And it's like, well, just sit with yourself first. Like, sit down and have some quiet time. Stop trying to work it away, stop trying to heal it away, stop trying to manifest it away. Stop trying. Sit down and be in silence. That is the most healing thing you could ever do. Because what happens then is you finally give your subconscious mind just a few minutes of time to actually do what it's designed to do and to regulate your emotions and process everything that's going on with you. Our brains are super clever and they will do their job. They will help you to process things and to. What's the word I'm looking for? And to basically sort everything that you are thinking about a way into, you know, separate kind of like mental filing cabinets in your brain. But when you don't take time to do that, when you don't have any kind of idle thinking time throughout your day, where you're not looking at your phone, where you're not talking to someone, where you're not listening to music, where you're not listening to a podcast, where you're not trying to find the latest manifestation hack online, when you don't take that time, you don't give your brain the space to actually do that. And so then your brain is just overwhelmed constantly with, with these unprocessed thoughts and these unprocessed emotions. And then you're just left at the whim of these thinking patterns that are so chaotic, you have incoherent brain waves and you're just super scattered and stressed all the time and you don't know why and you feel overwhelmed. And then because you feel overwhelmed, you try to self soothe by consuming more content. And then it's just a vicious cycle over and over again. And then you binge eat because you want to self soothe the fact that you've had too much content to consume. And da da, da, da da. And the consumption goes on and on. And then you wonder why you can't create anything meaningful. It's because your vessel is overwhelmed. And you haven't sat with yourself long enough to even know what you want to create or who you are or what you want or why you feel the way you do. Because there's so many things that are gone in. You're just like, it could be any of these things, I don't know, that happened like three weeks ago. So what can you do? You can just simply get to know yourself. Most people would heal if they just spent time getting to know themselves. Most people would heal if they just spent time in nature, if they just spent time sitting in silent meditation, if they just spent time journaling. And when I mean time, I mean consistent time, not once, not for a week, but making it a part of their life forever. It doesn't mean every day has to be the same. It doesn't mean you have to make this another thing on your plate, right, that you're trying for. It's just an intention that you set where it's like, I'm no longer trying, I'm no longer yearning, I'm no longer adding things on my plate. I'm just being present with myself and getting to know and understand all the good things, all the inherently perhaps bad things, all the things about myself, even if they're difficult to look at. And that's your intention from now going forward. If you do that, you won't need any more self help videos. You won't over time. The more time we spend just away from ourselves, distracting ourselves, consuming, consuming, consuming, the more we feel this pressure and this need to move away from our authentic self, and the less time we spend with ourselves, in silence, in nature, getting to know ourselves, the less we understand ourselves, the less we'll be able to actually just authentically live and express ourselves. And the more fragmented we're going to feel internally. And people, because they get this fragmentation and they're trying so hard to be something that they're not, they think that that's going to combat loneliness, they think that that's going to bring them happiness and fulfillment, when actually all it does is make people. Even if people do fall in love with this version of you that you're portraying yourself as or that you're trying to be, it's going to make you feel more lonely because it's not you and you know that it's not you. It's just someone that you've been trying to be, but it's not authentic to you. So when you spend your whole life running from yourself, not understanding yourself, not being honest with yourself about who you actually are, what you actually want, then you're going to just feel like nobody really understands you. You're going to feel like nobody is really in your corner because how can they be? They don't see the real expression of you because you don't even know what that expression is. People are really scared to get to the crux of the issue, which is just looking at themselves and getting to know themselves, looking at their emotions and understanding their emotions, looking at their patterns and understanding their patterns. People are scared to do that. People think that if I do that and if I show up authentically, well, what if the authentic me then gets rejected? Well, that is better. Risking that and having people reject and accept you for your authentic self is better than you being rejected and accepted for your inauthentic self. Because at least you're gonna open up the opportunity to have real authentic connections with people. That's worth it. So there's nothing to actually fear. And what happens is when you really dig in and you stop trying and you stop chasing and you stop running from yourself, you, you're gonna realize all these layers that you've been putting on, all your experiences in life just because of this internal splinter of you running from yourself just because you've been trying too hard to be something that you're not. You've been trying too hard, motivated. You've been trying too hard to be this, I don't know, rich fit, whatever person. You've been trying way too hard. And then, like, if things will happen, so you'll get, like, random anxiety in certain situations, or you'll have these random fears that come up and they'll feel really illogical and you won't understand why they're there. But when you strip the layers back, it always goes back to something internally that's going on with you. It'll always go back to you not being honest with yourself about who you are and what you actually want and what actually aligns with you and the ways that you've been betraying your authentic self. So I'll give you an example. I used to get super anxious going into my office job that I had a couple of years ago. And it came on me randomly, like, out of the blue. I was fine for a long time. I didn't love the job. Luckily, I realized that it was really the biggest issue was that I didn't want to be there and I wanted to work for myself. So in leaving that, I kind of solved that issue and I figured that out. But we can do this in our lives where we think it's one thing, right? We think it's like, say, for example, if you're in a relationship and that relationship, you know, you're betraying yourself by being in this relationship subconsciously. You know that. But you don't want to admit that because you don't really understand yourself or what you actually want. So you really do kind of think that you want this. And you're trying really hard to be the type of person who's with this person without realizing that it's not authentic to you. And then you're going to make up all these stories and you're going to have all these insecurities, and you're going to add all these different things onto this relationship that don't need to be there. Like, what actually needs to happen is you need to be honest with yourself. You need to understand yourself, and you need to be real with yourself about what you actually want. And when you do that, you finally can take the weight off yourself. You can stop telling yourself all these stories, stop putting things on your plate to do and achieve and overcome and conquer. That doesn't need to be life. Life is just passing by. Life is just happening. You're just here to live it. You don't need to keep making These rules that make you feel like all the time about what life needs to be for you. You don't need to keep setting rules for yourself that don't feel good to you. You can just live. You can let those go. You can decide that it's going to be easy. You can decide that maybe it's going to be tough, but you're going to enjoy it. You can decide to, even when the work is hard, enjoy the work. You can decide to do work that's aligned with you. You can decide to leave a relationship and be happy or single. Like, you can decide all of these things. And you don't have to keep holding on to terms and conditions for your success, for your relationships, for your age, for your. Where you live. You don't need to keep making rules that make it harder for you. And you're basically making hoops that you have to jump through so that you need to try harder when you don't need to try harder. So you're trying so hard because you're trying to meet these rules and expectations that you've set for yourself in your own life. You have set these rules through your own beliefs for yourself in your own life. And you're not here for very long. And you're going to spend that short time you have here trying to meet these expectations and rules for yourself that you have set that are not making you happy and are not authentic to you and are not aligned with you. And you're just going to keep trying to get to this unreachable point for what? Like, for what, what is that doing for you? If a belief is not serving you, it is there to limit you. And it is just a rule that you've made for your life to limit yourself and to make yourself jump through hoops and keep striving for something when there's no need to do that. You can just be. And so as you're trying to rewire this for yourself, when you tell yourself, I can't do this until I achieve something else, right? I can't have X, Y and Z until I become this type of person. I can't do X, Y and Z until I whatever, get my hair done, lose weight, get a camera, whatever it is. When you make up these rules for yourself, when you try and try and try to change yourself so much, you try to get the right mindset, you try to get motivated, you, you tried to get the right conditions. You're just creating rules that limit you. That's all you're doing. And they don't need to be there. They don't need to be there. There's people who have achieved what you want to achieve, and they haven't made any of these rules. They don't abide by those rules, and they still get the outcomes that you're looking for that you want. They have the feeling states that you want to feel. So the rules are not necessary. You've just made them up because you have created limiting stories in your mind, what is possible for you. And it goes back to, you think that if you do all these things, you're gonna be worthy, right? That's why you're trying so hard. But what if you could just say, I'm worthy now in my authentic expression of myself? What if you could just say me being authentic despite my flaws, because I'm always going to have some flaws, some characteristics that are better than others. Maybe this version of me is what actually needs to show up, because, spoiler alert, that is the truth. You and your most authentic version is the you that can serve other people the most. It's the you that can connect with other people the most. It's the you that can switch on your intuition and can guide you to what's aligned with you the most. No other version of you can do this. You are not going to find your higher self, your most authentic self, in chasing goals, in chasing ideals that belong to other people. You are only going to find that version of you in embodying and doing the things that resonate with you, even if they don't make sense to anybody else. So stop making rules and strict expectations for yourself in your life when they're not even really that important to you. Or what do you actually want? If you could snap your fingers and have it as easy as possible, how would you have it? How would you have it then? Go and find evidence for people who have had it that easy and ask yourself, why are you limiting yourself? Why can't you have it that easy? Why must you try so hard? You don't need to try so hard. There's nothing bad or shameful about being your authentic self. You don't have to keep forcing this narrative in your life if it's not serving you. Because at the end of the day, you're gonna die and everyone you know is gonna die. And you're gonna have spent your whole life trying to be something that you don't even care about. So stop trying. Just be what you want to be and let go of the rest.
