A brief spiritual-advice excerpt (YouTube video) by Elay Amitay Halevi advising that when starting new habits one should remain silent for 40 days to avoid attracting the "evil eye"—negative reactions from others that can undermine progress. The speaker frames the solution as humility, a period of silence until the habit is stable (40 days), and a short protective mantra asking the Creator for humility and prosperity in silence.

If you're starting something new, stay silent for at least 40 days. For the evil eye is most strong during this time. For example, if someone brags about their newfound routine of waking up early and exercising or dieting, as soon as they share this, most likely they are going to wake up late the next day. And it's not because they're intrinsically lazy or or never meant to wake up, but because as soon as they began to brag about their virtuous action of waking up early, they drew the evil eye of the people around them, even if they love them. And then these people are thinking, well, this guy or this girl thinks they're better than me. They think that they're so healthy and so regimented and it's awakening lack within them. This evil eye that is now created is because people feel bad around you. What is the solution? Stay silent at the beginning of any new idea. Once you do something consistently for 40 days, then we know that it is part of you. Here's a mantra for you. I ask that the Creator help me. Always have humility in the beginning of any new endeavor. And I ask for protection to prosper in silence.
