You have to change your mind about what is real for you

A motivational spoken talk by Katie arguing that personal reality is created first in the mind: change your beliefs and internal feelings and the external world will follow. She diagnoses common patterns (sleepwalking, victim identity, reinforcing lack), explains the mechanism (thoughts/feelings are vibrational precursors to matter), and gives practical methods — identify and overwrite limiting beliefs, gather counter-evidence, visualize and feel the desired state, act as the new character, focus on controllable next steps — to rewire identity and produce momentum toward desired outcomes.

When you change your mind about what is real for you, what is real for you will then change. Only when you change your mind about what's real for you will what is real for you actually change. You must change your mind first. And the tragedy of so many people's lives is, is that they sleepwalk through life on autopilot, being a victim of everything going on around them. Being created by their circumstances rather than creating their circumstances. We all have this game of life backwards. We have it absolutely upside down. We came here as expressions of God, and as expressions of God, we came here to be creators of our own fulfillment. That's the game we're playing. We are all, each and every one of us, divine creators. However, we come here and we're tested by this material world. And most of us fall victim to our external circumstances and end up being created by our circumstances. Or rather than us creating what we actually want to create, we just accept our reality. We accept that life is hard, that money is difficult to make, that love is difficult to find, that health is difficult to maintain. We accept these things. Why? Why are you accepting these shitty terms and conditions? Why are you allowing everything in your external world to define what your life is going to be into the future? Because the truth is, you're the one in the driver's seat. You are the one who is writing the story constantly. And you're currently in a loop. You're looking at your external world. You're saying, that's true, that's real, and you're reaffirming to your mind that that is reality. And that's all that can be true for you. You're in this limited, narrow version of events, and that's all that's possible for you in your mind. Because when you look outside, you're using your eyes to confirm the only things that can be true for you. When you have an entire internal world in your mind that can create a new reality and can create a new story. But you're sleep walking. You are asleep. And I'm going to wake you up in this video because I don't want you going throughout your life asleep. Because suffering, not realizing how much potential you have to actually create, not realizing that that's the whole reason that you're here. So you're in this loop of, oh, I see lack, I believe in lack, I see more lack, I believe in more lack, I see more lack, I believe in more lack, and then I see more lack, right? And you're going around and around and around, and sometimes maybe you Break out of it a little bit. Maybe you try to get a positive example, maybe you see somebody who's a positive example, maybe you try a few affirmations. You break out of it a little bit, but you don't put enough energy into the new reality. So you end up back in this circle again. Or you end up just being convinced by what you see again that your conviction in your mind is constantly being overridden by what you can physically see with your eyes when it needs to be the other way around. You have to come into this loop that you're in and consciously interrupt the shit that you've been telling yourself over and over and over again. Or else nothing in your external world is going to change. When you change what is real for you in your mind, the external world will reflect that back to you. But you have to, instead of seeing the lack, believing the lack, next time you see the lack, you say, how can I look at this differently? How can I look at this differently? Take yourself out of this sleepwalk, autopilot mode that you've been on because it's just going to keep you on the same road that you've been on for your whole life. And every single thing that's in your life right now is only there because of an energy that you have embodied before this moment right now and up until this moment right now. Nothing in your life can exist physically if it does not first exist vibrationally within you. Your thoughts, your feelings, your mental vibration, your mental frequency is what materializes things in the physical world. Matter and thought are the same thing, just a different rate of vibration. So when you're picturing something all the time, when you're picturing lack all the time, when you're picturing bad relationship, all the time, when you're picturing the worst case scenario, all the time, when you're picturing limitation all the time, when you're constantly just imagining that life can only be one way, well, guess what? Life is only going to be one way. And that's going to keep going. And you're going to be sitting there waiting for a Hail Mary, waiting, saying, oh, please help me God. Well, God is not just going to come down and help you unless you firm and you say this is different now. When you truly let go of fear and doubt, that's when your prayers will be answered. But when you're praying from a space of desperation, of dissatisfaction, of fear, of insecurity, those aren't going to be answered. Because the energy that you're attaching to that is what matters most. You can say an affirmation, you can say I rich. You can say I'm confident. But if you don't feel rich, if you don't feel confident, you're literally using empty words. You're wasting your time. Wasting your time. How you're feeling is what matters the most. Because if you think about a goal, right, let's look at where you are right now and where you want to be. The only difference between you here and you there, and the only reason you want to go there is because of how you think you're going to feel when you get there. Why do you want the goal? You want it because you're gonna feel more secure. You want it because you're gonna feel healthier, you're gonna feel happier, you're gonna feel more vibrant, more loved, whatever. All of the reasons that we want what we want and we desire what we desire is because we want to feel a certain way. So the only thing you really want in this life is a different feeling. It's not the material thing that you want. Those are just symbols and they're temporary. They don't actually matter. The divine part, the non physical part of what you desire is how it's going to make you feel. And you can tap into that right now. You don't need the material thing to make you feel that. So you have to start where you are and start by stopping yourself from just sleepwalking through your life. Right now. You're probably. If you're resonating with this video, I'm gonna, I'm gonna literally call you out here and now. This is probably what you're doing. You're probably just on autopilot all day in your old habits, in your old identity. You have a lot of unconscious patterns that you don't really want to look at. And you're yearning for more constantly. You're yearning for things to be different constantly. And you feel this feeling inside you that there's something that you're meant to be doing that's not what you're doing right now. But you're so rude by doubt and fear that you can't even begin to go down that path. Because your identity, who you think you are and what you think is possible is blocking you from even looking at that. So you keep rolling through life hoping for the best, but complaining about everything in your life, wishing it was different, but not really knowing what to do and not really doing anything about it. If that's you, I'm gonna tell you exactly how you can start to crawl your way out of that. Change the narrative, Change the story you're telling yourself in your mind about what your life is, about who you are, about what you can have, what you can't have. All of this stuff is made up. Every belief that exists within you was just something you learned from someone else. So you can unlearn it. If you want to overwrite a belief, all you literally have to do is notice it, identify it, see that it's limiting you. Ask yourself where it came from. Ask yourself how something else can be true. Bring in a new, more empowering belief. Believe in the new, more empowering belief more. Get evidence for that self. Say it like you mean it. Say it five times a day like you mean it. Feel it, visualize it, and it will be rewritten. Okay, maybe that's not actually that few steps. Maybe that is a lot of steps. But guys, this is the thing that I'm saying. You can't just, you know, keep avoiding that work, right? That is kind of the where you start and where you end. With all of this, you can only perceive of a reality that is resonant with your belief system and with your paradigm, with your identity, with who you think you are, with what you think you can have. And if you're telling yourself a disempowering story all the time about yourself and about your life, then that is what needs to change, no matter what else you do. Sometimes you can trick your paradigm by taking action that is way outside your comfort zone and showing yourself that something else is possible. That is another way to rewire a belief. Yes, with action. However, most of the time, we're limited from even seeing that we could even potentially take a new action. We can't even consider that we could do something new because our paradigm is blocking us from even looking at that or seeing ourselves as someone who can do something different. So if you really, really want to change your life, you have to change your narrative. And if you want to change the narrative and the story that's going on internally for you, you have to change what you believe in. Beliefs are just stories that have been backed by a lot of emotion to the point that they have registered in your subconscious mind. And if you want a new belief that's going to empower you instead of the belief that's limiting you, then you just need to tell a new story and buy into that emotionally to the point that it overrides the emotional conviction that you have in the old belief. What can help with this is by instilling doubt in the obelisk. If you have an old belief that money doesn't grow on trees, get examples of people who are making money in their sleep. Get around people who find it easy to make money. Stop listening to people who are affirming that belief. Start listening to people that go completely against that. Find a ton of evidence that that is not true. And that is going to take the legs out of that belief. It's going to take the emotional conviction out of it. And then you want to bring in a new one that you can believe in. Do not bring in a belief you can't believe in yet. If you want to learn more on that, watch my Subconscious Mind video. Okay, but the main point, I want to tell you with this. This is not a subconscious rewriting video. I'm telling you this because you probably think that, okay, if I just, you know, take another step over here, if I just do another manifestation hack, if I just, you know, do this exercise and, and whisper under my pillow or whatever the hell the kids are doing these days, then, you know, it'll appear like the Tooth Fairy is going to bring it in the middle of the night. No, she's not. Your energy, your being, your internal world is what's bringing things to you. And you gotta change this and you gotta do the work, or it's not gonna change externally. And that's how you change it. Not by just saying, I'm rich, but by digging into your subconscious, by noticing your patterns, by confronting yourself, by questioning your patterns, by questioning your beliefs, and by doing the work to reaffirm and gather evidence for beliefs that actually support you. That is the work. And the work does work when you actually do it. This is the shit that's going to change your life. Nothing else will. Unless you get. You can pick yourself up and put yourself in an environment that naturally reshapes all your beliefs, which is another helpful thing you can do. Unless you can take yourself out of whatever situation you're in right now and put yourself in a situation where you're surrounded by wealth and people are giving you money and people are giving you opportunities, and suddenly you're just able to open up your paradigm because of everything. You can't deny the evidence in front of you. If you can't access that physical evidence, you need to create mental evidence for yourself. That's the work. And if you skip that, your life is never going to change. Never. And you can stay where you are and not do that work, or you can do the work and you can guarantee that you will change. Because when your mental reality changes, your physical reality has to follow that is law. You can't. You can't negotiate with the laws of the universe, okay? It's out of your hands once you rewire that. Once you actually do that bit of work and commit yourself to rewiring the stories you've been telling yourself, the reality that you are perceiving must change to fall in line with that. It's out of your hands after that point. That has to happen so you don't have to keep fighting down all these different paths and fighting in your physical world and your physical reality against your physical circumstances. And, oh, Karen said this at work and John didn't give me a raise, and I wish this was different. And I hate my job. And then my mom shouted at me, and then I. My boyfriend got with someone else. Like, no, none of that matters. Stop complaining about your external world, because all you're doing is you're feeding and feeding that reality to continue to exist. For you take that energy and put it into reshaping your inner reality and your outer reality will transform. That is how it works. I have to catch myself all the time doing this because we're trained to do this. And I literally gave this example before, but I was in a cafe right before I made a video one day, so it was top of my mind to mention it. I was in a cafe and there was this woman sitting there with her newborn baby, and she was having like a really nice gossip with her friend, right? But she was complaining about this and complaining about that. And that infant's mind is there absorbing this like a sponge, that this is how we act in this world. We really feed our emotions into things we don't like. We talk about it, we. We complain about it, we worry about it, we overanalyze it, we judge, we moan, and we dwell, right? That's how we live in the world. And guess what? That doesn't change your circumstances, and it never, ever fucking will. What will change your circumstances is when you take your power back from the circumstance. So in the moment where you have a circumstance that you don't like, you can either allow that circumstance to create you, or you can instead create your circumstances going forward. For example, if a friend shouts at you if a situation happens where there's a disagreement or you. There's something you don't like, instead of you being created by the circumstance and saying, oh my God, you're so ignorant. You're so rude. How can you not understand where I'm coming From I'm so hurt. How can you not get it? She doesn't understand me. She's so mean. Whatever. That's you being created by what just happened, that event just created your state, it just created your reaction, it just created your internal world. So instead of you allowing yourself to be continually created by the things around you, you become a creator. When something happens and you say, what do I want from this situation and how do I want to react? What do I want to happen instead? So in that situation, you can respond with love, you can respond with kindness, you can respond with compassion, you can respond with genuine curiosity as to trying to understand what's wrong with this person. Where is this coming from? Rather than you defaulting to an ego driven reaction in that moment, you're actually exercising your divine power. And this might sound like a little thing, but it's not. It feeds into everything. When you interrupt that ego driven, reactive voice that wants to just impulsively react to something and wants to just be created by whatever happened. When you switch that and you overcome that kind of uncomfortable moment where you're like, oh, I want to shout at this person. And instead you're like, no, how do I want the situation to be going forward and how can I react to make it that way? You are actually exercising your God given nature in that moment. You are being a creator. You are creating the circumstances in your life. When you respond differently, that is how you become the creator of everything in your life. How you do one thing is how you do everything. So next time your man annoys you, next time something in work bothers you, take your power back over the situation. Do not allow yourself to continue to play these lower level ego driven games because that is zapping you of your creative powerhouse, your godlike power to actually create something different. Here's a practical tip on how to do that. And I do this all the time. If I feel myself, and I do catch myself doing this all the time, I'm not perfect. It's how we were literally trained. It's not an easy thing to do. I'm not saying that, but I am saying it'll change your life. When you catch yourself feeding into something that you don't want, complaining, moaning, giving out whatever it is, worrying, you have to catch yourself doing that, realize that that is not your burden to carry and that is not going to change anything. You constantly feeding into the worry or the doubt or the fear is not going to change the thing. It's going to create the thing that you fear. When you keep Fear. So you have to take that thing, put it to one side, and then get your phone and get in your notes app and write what you want to happen. So instead of focusing on what you don't want, now you're focusing on what you do want. And you write down word for word. So let's say the disagreement with a friend. My friend messaged me this thing, but it turns out she was just this. And she really needed help with this. And once we understood each other, we actually worked it out and now we're closer than ever. Or whatever way you want that situation to unfold, right? She apologized, she understood, we moved past it, whatever. You can write that down, you can affirm that to be true. You can affirm like, all my relationships are harmonious. There is no disharmony in the divine plan and in the divine mind. So I have nothing to worry about. Because this, this is, this is another thing, and this is a fact. When you, with your conscious, ego driven mortal mind are trying to constantly get in the way and control and predict and worry and analyze and nitpick and impulsively react, you're getting in the way of the divine plan. You're getting in the way of the best case scenario because you're clinging on to a version of events that is limited and God, the universe is limitless. When you're in a lower state of consciousness, when you're in fear, doubt, insecurity, you're going to cling on to things that you don't, that don't serve you, to stories, to narratives, to circumstances, to people that don't really serve you. And the more and more you cling on to the things that don't serve you, the less space you leave for things that are actually for you and for your highest good, you don't leave any room for that to come in, right? So you're blocking your blessings. When you are so attached to all of this stuff that is giving you nothing. When you let go of all the worry, of all the stress, of all the complaining, of all the that's not serving you. You're opening up room in your life for the blessings and for the good to come in. The more you can let go, the more you're going to be set free, the higher you're going to rise, the more possibilities you're going to see. So you tell a new story about your life. You invest your emotions and you picture that as if it's really real and you feel like it's real right now and imagine how that would feel and when you do that, you're going to begin to form an image of the version of you who can live that life. What do they do and what don't they do? That's going to become very clear. If it's not clear, you can write that down. Me now, me and my dreams, what's the difference? And then all you have to do is show up as that person. And what this is going to do, it's going to take your focus off the goal. Because as I mentioned a minute ago, if you're in this stuck mode, you're probably just wishing and putting all your hopes and dreams and wishes and energy into oh, I wish I was over here. And the goal is a million miles away from you and you feel like you're never going to get there. And you're putting the goal on a pedestal miles above you. When the goal doesn't really matter, it's the process of getting to the goal that even makes the goal valuable. If you were just handed the thing that you want and you didn't have to go through any process to get the thing thing, it would completely lose its value. So the value is in the process. What's the process? The process is who you're becoming in the pursuit of the goal. That's what I mean by process. That's what gives the goal meaning. It's a symbol of your growth, the growth of your character. So focus on that because that's within your control. And we drive ourselves insane in this life by focusing on what we can't control. That is what losers do in this life. That is what puts you in a state of powerlessness. By constantly focusing on what you can't control and never actually focusing fully on what you can control. If you were to take all your attention and all your focus of all these things that you can't control and you were to actually 100% go all in and focus on what you can control, you would be years ahead. You would get so far ahead you wouldn't even recognize yourself. But we're so caught up in all this external noise that we've lost our ability to focus on what actually is within our control. And what's within our control is our next step. Who we're showing up as, what we're paying attention to, what we're thinking about, what we're reacting to, how we're reacting. We can't control the things that are happening to us right now in the day to day life, but we can control how we respond. We can control how we show up and we can control who we are showing up as each and every moment, each and every day. That is a power that each of us have. But. But we're so drained from putting our energy on everything outside us that we forget that we have that power. And that's actually the only power we have. So it's any wonder you feel powerless. You're doing something that you don't have power in. If you want to feel powerful, do something that you actually have power over, which is focus on how you're showing up right now. Each day, each step. I think Jeff Bezos said he was building Amazon. He just focused on taking it step by step with ferocity. I think that was what he said. I'm sorry if I got that wrong, but that's what you have to focus on. How can you take the next step the best way that you possibly can? How can your next step be the best step that you've taken yet? That's your focus, not, oh my God, what's Sally gonna say? Oh, my God, what if I don't get the views? Oh, my God, what if it doesn't make me money? What if my mom doesn't understand? Or what if my family don't get it? Or what if, what if, what if, what if? No, you put your energy on your next step. You put your energy on who you're showing up as. Sorry, that's really weird. My mom just messaged me who you're showing up as, because that's what you can control. And. And that's going to take so much pressure off you. You're going to feel so much better. Because when you focus on the process, the outcome just inevitably is drawn to you. Even if you're doing something, for example, making content. Like, if you have two views on a video, I don't care if your goal is to have a million views, you should be acting like a person who has a million views. If you have a business and you haven't made a dollar yet, you should be acting as a person that is providing a $10,000 per month service, a $50,000 per month service. Because when you act as that person would act, you get the outcome. You cannot receive anything that is not a vibrational match to what is in your field. So create the field. Field first. And the thing will come. It has to. I remember I was literally getting like 200 views on my videos. And I was so stressed about getting 200 views on my videos. I was like, how can I not even get 1k? This is so Sad. Oh, my God, there's something wrong with me. Help. And then I was like, katie, okay, no, no, no, no. You are making content. What can you control? I can control on each video getting better. I can control on how much I'm learning, preparing. I can control improving my setup, improving my delivery, improving my consistency, improving my thumbnails. All of these things are within my control. And most of all, I can allow that to be enough. Because I feel good knowing that I'm showing up in this game of life as the character that I want to show up as. So the views and the material things that I've attached to that character, they don't matter so much. When I know in my heart and soul that I am being that character. That's what matters. And lo and behold, when I wrote, I had to write this out, I wrote this down, I really felt it and I said, you know what? Yeah, I am actually happy because I am being that character. And I'm gonna do this, this and this because that's what this character would do. And that's who I am now. And that's enough for me. When I did that, the view started coming. That's how it works. Okay? So you can apply this to every area of your life. If you want a new relationship, you have to be the person who you would want to have as a significant other. You have to have the values that that person that you want to attract into your life has. I wanted to attract someone into my life who was healthy, no longer codependent, a soulmate kind of relationship. Right. And I was like, you know what? I'm just gonna let everything go because I had a very toxic relationship cycle prior to this. I'm just gonna not even think about relying on another person being in another relationship. I'd been in three serious long term relationships, all of which were not healthy at all. And I was like, okay, until I am ready and in a state where I only want healthy love and I only attract someone who is really going to be my partner for life. I'm not entertaining another anything, anything, not a date, nothing. And I committed that in my mind. And that shifted internally my identity, where I no longer was accepting anything that wasn't marriage material, basically, and wasn't something I really truly felt like was aligned and for my highest good. Right? When I did that, and I shifted my character and I felt like I was a different character who had different standards. And I really felt that internally. My soulmate came in out of the blue when I wasn't looking for It. So this works in every single area of your life. If you feel like you're not getting your value reflected back to you, how valuable are you seeing yourself? Identify the character that you're playing. Write down a stick figure. Write down all the characteristics of the stick figure you up until this moment, and then write another stick figure of the character that you want to be. Show up as that character and let that be enough. Let that be enough. And just watch as everything that you want unfolds around you. The more and more you just embody that character and let go of the outcome. If you've been playing this level of this game for this long as this character and you want to go to that level, in order to get to that level, it can't be this character. It needs to be a new character. So when you focus on being the character first, getting to the level becomes easy. Here's the thing. You're gonna have to be stronger than your emotions. You're gonna have to be stronger than your fear. You're gonna have to be stronger than your doubt. And I'm gonna tell you something that is going to hopefully keep you feeling strong and committed to this new version of you and to this new reality. The pain that you're feeling right now of untapped potential is so much worse than the pain of growth. You just think that the pain of growth is worse because it's unknown. So while you're here in this level, looking at that level, not knowing where it is, not knowing how to get there, because that is an unknown path, an unknown journey, an unknown level with unknown struggles, your mind is going to tell you that it is really, really painful and really, really scary to go down that path. Anytime something is unknown to us, especially if we have a habit of avoiding the unknown, our brains are going to tell us, no, don't do it. They're going to throw doubt, fear, and insecurity at us and try to keep us where we are. But none of that is real. And the pain that you're feeling right now of that yearning, of that untapped potential is so much worse than the very slight discomfort that you're going to feel when you start growing. Because what's going to happen is, yes, you're going to feel maybe a little bit of pain, a little bit of discomfort as you're pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. However, there's going to be accompanied by a massive amount of relief and pleasure in knowing that you're finally showing up as the person that you've always wanted to be. And that overrides any amount of pain or discomfort that comes with growth. So I'm just going to tell you, as simple as I can tell you, it's better on the other side. It's better to get off the sidelines and actually start showing up in your life as you want to show up. You're addicted to the thoughts and emotions and beliefs of this version of you. You are addicted to them. It is like a chemical rush. It's a. It's a reaction. We're addicted to our suffering. We're addicted to our pain. We're addicted to our complaining. We're addicted to our limitations and our stories. We're addicted to being victims. So that's why it's so hard. And that's why you're gonna have this resistance to changing. But I'm just gonna tell you right now, there's nothing to be scared of. And actually staying where you are is so much more scary than changing. And when you finally start to change, this is what's going to happen. You're going to make the first decision. There's going to be a lot of resistance. The second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, probably all of those. You're going to have to use your conscious will and effort to step outside your comfort zone and push yourself and show yourself that you are no longer the old version of you. But what's going to happen after that is you're going to have this magical thing called momentum. And when you start gaining momentum in your new identity, in your new story, in your new reality, it becomes so much easier. And you're going to see that it never had to be so difficult. This whole time you weren't in this box. You just thought you were. It wasn't this limited. You just thought it was. It didn't have to be so difficult difficult. You just thought it did. And now that you're thinking differently, everything in your external world can change and shift to match that. I don't know what it is, but it's like a subconscious pain of knowing that you're not doing what you're supposed to do. A subconscious pain of knowing you're letting all this fear programming society, your parents, whatever program you with all this stuff that you, you know is not right for you and you know you don't want to be true for you. The subconscious pain of having that weigh on you all the time. You don't know how heavy that is until you start to break out of it. You've forgotten that you have the power to create because you're so bogged down by this physical 3D world and all its lack and limitation that you can't see that you're also a limitless being with the power to create whatever you desire. So long as you can picture it in your mind and hold the feeling in your heart at any given moment, you can change the course of your life. And I need you to start believing in that. No matter how dark, no matter how bad, no matter how low you feel, you and only you have the power to change can change in any moment. Just focus on how can I take the next best step and take it from there. You are in the driver's seat. You have created everything up until now, and you will create everything going forward based on what you're embodying right now. So it is on you.
