Thank you.
You know, I just think Emmett Miller is like the— probably the first sophisticated creator of guided imagery. And with that magnificent voice and exquisite language and psychological sophistication and just breadth of experience, all of that comes through his compassion and wisdom and kindness. He's got it all. He's the full package.
Hi, I'm Dr. Marty Rossman. I've known Dr. Emmett Miller for probably over 45 years, and I could not recommend him more highly.
But Dr. Miller saved my life. I mean, that's the only way I can put it. I say I was near death's door at the time that I came to the hospital, and within a few weeks I was basically healthy.
I was able to use the guided imagery that Emmett Miller taught me to keep my entire body focused, strong, and in a state of calm. And this was before most people even knew what guided imagery was and before most athletes made it a regular part of training. He really is the pioneer in this regard, and I remain grateful to him.
To this day, after the work that I've done with Dr. Miller in visualization and meditation, I still hear his voice in my head when I need to refocus, I need to center, I need to reduce my anxiety. I hear him saying, "There's nowhere else you need to be right now. There's nothing else that you need to be doing right now." Those words instantly refocus me and allow me to get on with my day.
Dr. Miller was an angel to me. He— that, that's the way I describe him. To other people. There's such a feeling of safety and acceptance. I can honestly say that Dr. Miller saved my life, gave me my life back.
There is no one in the field of guided imagery, visualization, deep relaxation, meditation that even resembles the ability of Dr. Miller.
When I first came across Dr. Miller's work, I was most impressed by his guided imagery meditation called Rainbow Butterfly. I shared it with the Olympic synchronized swimmers I was working with, and they benefited from it and loved it because they love the music. And of course, his voice is so mesmerizing. That led me to use it with the figure skaters before the Calgary Olympics, with Brian Orser and Elizabeth Manley, McCollin Wilson, all medalists from those Olympic Games. And they loved it as well.
And, you know, I've watched friends and family go to quote unquote therapy. Unfortunately, look at them and I wonder how they would ever find somebody as competent, capable, kind, caring as, as somebody like Dr. Miller. If there's an opportunity, if you're looking through a breakthrough or you're looking to, or you have pain and discomfort in your life at the end of the day and you want to move beyond that, a personalized session with Emmett is how you can really live the life that you want to live. And it just, he just does it in an expedited format.
I am a photographer, filmmaker, human rights activist, and And I really attribute so much of that to the early work I did in my mid-20s with Dr. Emmett Miller.
Emmett has been one of the best kind of friends that a person can possibly have. I've recommended his tapes and recordings and his practice to so many of my patients, particularly people who have had trauma in their past. He has a wonderful way of helping people reframe their pasts in a much more positive light and learning their life's lessons.
He's a masterful physician, psychotherapist, mind-body interventionist. I love him, and he's just at the top of my list.
I was extremely ill for about 9 years. Um, I read Dr. Miller's book Deep Healing, and through applying the principles in the book, I've made a full recovery. And I'm now able to run a 10K in 40 minutes.
